If you read my blog post you will learn all about the Avatar mode in Shogun 2 and how it could look in Three Kingdoms.
I just want customisation for generals in singleplayer. It's long overdue.
Shogun 2 being probably the best Total War there is, it is a high bar.
I can tell you from the perspective of an outsider who doesn't like total war particularly, even if I bought Shogun 2 and the 2 warhammers, I already sunk more hours into three kingdoms than all of these combined. It is definitely above average, and a lot more accessible. That might alienate "true" fans but from many perspectives, it is one of the better ones, if not the best.
That is exactly what avatar conquest fixed by letting players use any unit and editing them as veterans.
That's where the customisation matters because there you have lots of armies and might want them or at least the generals to look different.
Who cares, theres enough of a demand and market for better multiplayer. I'm sure soon enough there will be plenty of mods that allow you to do what you want in single player without need of CA
Could you be more specific about missing features, it may have been a long time but I don't remember Shogun 1 having any features that are missing from Shogun 2, besides the one man red monster samurai.
I wish so much there was at least one person working for CA that was a MP fan. It would help us get heard where it matters, at the CA HQ.
My personal opinion is that medieval 2 is the best total war game.
