There seems to be some confusion around when and where you get points. I've been told after character creation you then only get points for skills and perks. You don't ever get any more points to invest in attributes.

You'll end the game at around level 7 or 8. You get 2 skill points per level + however many you started with. You can also get a tiny bit more with talismans.

You never get more attribute points to spend, though you can also increase them with talismans and temporarily with drugs.

18. 2 per level and level cap is 10, you start at lvl 1.
Sisyphus Sep 29, 2019 @ 6:22pm
Has anyone got even close to level 10? I've never gotten past level 7 myself.

If you are so inclined, you can probably grind your way to 10 on random encounters. You'll max out angst and you'll need to pick encounters that produce enough loot to let you afford to rest and recover all the expenses resources, but it should be possible.

How would you afford that tho, getting money in the game seems to be the biggest problem - at least as far as I can see.

You wont get higher that lvl 7. Maybe 8 if you do everything and grind.

Various skills afford you variable amounts of XP. For example speechcraft have a whole lot of xp-opportunities although the unique dialogue rarely yields great rewards.

By the end of the game you're flush with cash, I got the 1500 cigs achievement by accident. Spells you've already learned, crafting materials you dont have the skills for, weapons you're not using, and talismans you dont want the maledictions for all can be sold for big money.

On top of that, some random encounters give enough loot to pay for themselves, and the ones that don't are relatively easy with endgame characters. Especially if you spec for melee combat and don't have to restock on bullets.

Yeah i've switched to a pure melee build now - because a firearms build is just not viable for the most part due to the constant need to buy ammo that you can't afford lol. There should be some perks that give a chance to not use ammo or something. Also there should be a way to craft bullets too. At the moment firearms builds are too costly and too weak compared to melee builds.

Shame because I usually love to pay as a range weapons guy in games like these, as melee archetypes are usually so cliche for the most part. But melee builds in this game are just so vastly superior in every way comparatively.

It depends: in the early game you are better off saving ammo. After you've completed a quest or two you should start getting enough loot to buy 30-40 bullets at a time. However, you definitely don't want a full party of gun users, as that ♥♥♥♥ would get insanely expensive.

bullets are on the list of craftable items, though you probably have to research them to get the blueprints.

Do science researches and crafting bullets will come up. Believe you can find a schematic for 38 bullets in a crate in the warehouse, if you have 1 melee and high enough phys.

Ahh, there it is. I was thinking it would have been a survival recipe, but now I think about it - it does makes sense that it's science, since it's mixing chemicals to make gunpowder maybe I guess.

Also i'm not unlocking nearly as much blueprints and recipes as show there, maybe I just need to rest more and do more researching.

Man the more I read about this game and play it, the more deep i'm seeing how it is.
This is a very underrated game I think.
