Update on Servers 09/12/24

On September 9th an Atari Social Media Consultant asked around about SS2 and stated:

For those having asked us about the state of Surgeon Simulator 2 in the past few days, thank you very much for your current - and continued - patience with the online servers. I know it must be frustrating to not be able to play the game right now. I do however bring a statement from Atari about the current state:

Infogrames did purchase Surgeon Simulator and is in the process of taking over management of the games including Surgeon Simulator 2. It was the decision of Tiny Build and Bossa to remove online functionality of the game to make a better Surgeon Simulator experience before the game was transferred to Atari. You may be experiencing some issues with the online service due to these changes to the game.
They should have the game updated in the coming weeks with this update that should fix the issues you are having.

On September 12th a Bossa Discord Server Admin stated the future of the game:

Dear Players,
Starting September 17th, 2024, we will be closing the online servers for Surgeon Simulator 2. Don't worry, you will still be able to experience our game in offline, single-player mode. Our game will receive an update on the day adding an offline mode.

I am unsure if there would be a mod for multiplayer or if Atari will attempt to fix the servers but it seems like the game is going all single-player for the foreseeable future.

Just gave a quick look in the game. It's playable now. But because there's no multiplayer anymore, not all achievements are obtainable anymore. I hope they will delete them..

I thought they would. Hoping there's at least a chance of servers recovering from Atari's end or Modding.

Good luck getting A++ on some of the later levels without someone to help out. Surgeon Sim 2 was 100% designed as a co-op game, and still allowing the game to be sold without it is a massive disservice. Hopefully there will be a peer-to-peer or LAN/Hamachi solution at some point, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Only achievement I sadly missed, is to get to level 50 (wasn't in mood to grind houres for that).

I actually played all levels solo and got all other achievements. Don't know anymore if it was hard or not for me, but I would say it's possible.
