Is it just me or the boss Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony in the final is almost impossible to defeat?

She might probably be the hardest boss in the game, for what I see in these forums and Reddit. Definitely she acts as a sort of "filter", screening out the players who have not yet mastered the dodge, parry and counter-attack mechanics, or general button-mashers. She certainly makes a lot of people mad. the fact that there is little advice in beating her is no help.

However, it is very possible to beat her, and once you know the moves it is just a matter of time, or even somewhat easy. Observe her attacks and make use of the combos at your disposal, stay close to her and parry everything. Timing is very important in this fight. Eventually you will defeat her, as many of us did.

At release, it was easy to keep her locked into a very predictable and exploitable pattern. Now, the pattern is still slightly predictable, but you can't exploit it so easily anymore. So, if you saw some YT videos on how to beat her, be aware that they might be outdated and those tactics won't work anymore.

Pay attention to what she's doing, you can parry/block ALL of her attacks. You can cancel your attack into a parry, so while attacking pay attention to see her winding her sword, that's the time to parry. Parrying/riposting her attacks will leave her staggered for a little bit. Don't get greedy.

If she goes into the blocking stance, you can go to the extreme opposite side of the screen, parry/block the incoming attack (as soon as she twitches, it's about time to block using the Mea Culpa heart that improves blocking stance), and, since your back is against the corner of the screen, you'll be able to quickly recover from the block animation to connect some attacks.

If she does jumping diagonal slashes, be aware that if she hits the corner of the screen, she'll do a backflip and do the same attack AGAIN. Pay attention. You can punish her during the landing animation.

Once she starts repeatedly doing the flying attacks, go to the middle of the screen and jump over her, you need to jump a bit before she starts the animation. Wait for her to disappear after doing the diagonal swoops, and attack slightly in the place she disappears.

If you need healing, Pelican Effigy is your friend. Otherwise, healing opportunities will be very slim. Try to heal once she does a backflip.

She's probably the hardest boss in the game right now, but not impossible.

Thanks a lot for the tips, for the videos I saw I think they increased the difficulty, but I could be wrong (i'm not the best player in the world but i'm not that bad either).

the boss difficulty is out of whack. most of the bosses before going across the bridge are extremely easy..with the exception of charred visage ...that was difficult. After that you start getting power ups and vials and bigger health and abilities to heal you..and at that point the game is a cake walk..

only to get to the bridge and face a boss that is slightly as difficult as the charred visage.

not sure what happens after you beat him..but I would imagine the game is basically about to wrap up.

If you can find and equip the proper set of rosary beads then she isn't really a problem. It's all about having such a ridiculously high amount of defense that she can hardly hurt you.

There's the weak and high defense beads. You'll need both of those. There's also one which increases your defense when your health is low, and that's the most important one. If you don't have all three of these, then the fight will be much more difficult. The spell that heals you as you hit enemies will also be helpful, as well as the bead which protects you while you drink a flask (I didn't have it at the time and still managed to beat her).

Anyway, with those 3 beads you should be able to just wail into her and only have to heal whenever your life is really low (and even if she hits you while you heal, it won't do much damage because of the high defense bonus). Parrying was not helpful during this fight as you can't retaliate as you could against the bridge boss. Riposte probably works, but I never learned how and still completed the game.

I parried nearly every attack and got a few dash attacks in and that was all it took to beat her. I used the Sword Heart that increased parry time. I didn't all the defense beads.

she often glitches out, giong off screen to do most of her special moves. You can use this to your advantage. but ya, a jump in difficulty from the other bosses which basically got downed first attempt.
