custom charts
is there any good reason why we can't add custom charts without the dlc, i seriously can't see it to be worth 30$ just to mod this game with charts after i already bought it because i hate almost all of the songs available without the dlc and it almost makes the game seem like a waste of money even though i really like the gameplay i can't justify 30$, why is replacing already existing charts not an option yet if you know why can you explain it to me?

I fully agree with this. I bought this is one of the recent sales, downloaded a bunch of custom charts, and then found out I was locked out unless i chose to pay 30 damn dollers. No other rhythm game charges that much for custom charts. Now I have to wait until at least summer for the next steam sale, and honestly theres another rhythm game almost exactly like this coming out with an actual story and custom support confirmed, so I may just grab that instead.

not trying to crap on this game btw, but in my opinion it is NOT a good value and I can't reccomend it.

LMAO, it doesn't go on sale, honestly this type of DRM pisses me off more than any other type, it's just restricting you from functionality the program is already capable of just because they want to squeeze some more money out of you, dude i live in iraq, you think i got 30 spare dollars to spend on your custom charts, i got better ♥♥♥♥ to spend my money on and this is the type of thing that makes me pirate games

you people are aware that custom charts are in no way supported by the devs, right?

yeah, but why would a community make it's modding scene hidden behind a paywall, why use the just as planned DLC, does the game flag any song that isn't in a list of the base game charts as dlc? if so why didn't the devs change that, and if not why does it need the just as planned DLC

ask them not me bro
maybe that, maybe something else
devs have no reason to change that because they don't support mods

i did in their server, they just called me cheap and dismissed me, is it crazy to say that it's unreasonable to sell a game for 3 dollars then charge 30 dollars for a charts dlc, and only be able to add custom charts if i had the DLC, you could get multiple way better games instead, and the people in the server told me it's a "good investment:steammocking:" i hate to reinforce the fedora fat guy in his mom's basement archetype but who else could think a 30 dollar charts dlc is a good investment, it's an alien concept to me

It's because of how the code works, a different song pack that isn't default requires you to own the DLC. That's how the base game code works and it applies to the song pack added with the mod. The modding community doesn't fare well with the devs already but they at least ask people to buy the DLC and support the devs, which is why there hasn't been a huge major dispute between modders and the devs. It's a very cheap and worthwhile rhythm game DLC all things considered. The DLC gives you every current and future song in the game as well as the ability to play these custom charts.

Wow I didn't know the devs were rude. Definatly will remember that. Any game that doesn't support non profit modding is already on my ♥♥♥♥ list. But to accuse someone who gives honest feedback of being cheap. yeah thats not cool.

DLC was on sale along with base game during last large steam sale which is when i bought it, just wait until a large discount, it's worth it since game still gets updates and collabs too imo.

what is "cheap" is a relative matter since it's digital goods not physical which means you're just buying a copy of something that doesn't have real value outside of what you value it to be, i get that you think it's worth 30 dollars, i bet you're more invested and interested in the game than me too, who knows maybe i really am cheap, but the way they handled the DLC is clearly just an excuse to get an extra cent out of the people that want to mod, and it's probably why there is only 4 good charts in the base game with everything else being boring and generic electronic music with nothing interesting :steambored:, there is no reason modding shouldn't be supported other than them wanting to sell the dlc, hey should've just included it in the base game and sell it for more, and if the base game was there so people can try the game before they buy the 30 USD DLC, then just make a demo instead, it just it doesn't make sense, but hey i could just be mentally challenged
