Personally, I use: ASDF for highs and JKL; for lows. Space for FEVER
Four possible buttons each, one hand dedicated per lane. It clears up a lot of my brain dumb-dumbing of trying to rapid-press different fingers on the same hand for high/low hits. Left hand is highs, right is lows. 4 fingers for each and can generally rapid press 2 keys fast enough for most songs.
OH you use manual fever mode. I never thought of doing that.
I guess it is useful for optimizing the score, but right now I am just trying to focus on hitting all the prompts without missing.
If I can activate Fever manually, I can anticipate the visual change and target it right before a batch of notes, instead of midstream when it tends to cause me to miss a beat or ten. lol
