In a move to appease the chinese nationalists Cover sent both Vtubers on a 3 week suspension, wrote a typical corporate apology, and the CEO got his wage cut, but it didn't help.
While the japanese girl of the 2 was mainly left alone after her return, as the chinese antis decided that attacking her doesn't makes much sense so it's better to focus on on the american girl as it is more likely to get her fired, but that simply isn't working as she has far more non chinese supporters than there are antis that can use Youtube, so while her dislikes have increased it doesn't do the damage the antis hoped for.
Bilibili afaik suspended all Hololive accounts and Cover decided to stop operating in china by disbanding their chinese division, Hololive CN (good move).
This all happened several weeks ago but only just recently and out of the blue this garbage publisher decided to ban Hololive from streaming their games, including this, which owes part of it popularity to Hololive streamers of which so far 3 have reached 1 million subscribers, all 3 played the game on stream, including one of who even has a song in this game because of streaming it and contributing to its popularity a lot.
This means losing millions of potential consumers and angering a fair amount of players who learned about this game through Hololive, which includes me.
Good summary though if I may add, Taiwan legitimacy as a country is indeed still in question because they are, according to various agreements between China and the others including the US and UN, is indeed not a country and pretty much a territory under China but they do indeed have the right to have their own government too according to the agreement but they are not exactly a country or a nation of their own.
Regardless, I wholeheartedly agree with most of your views because the antis are a crazy extreme bunch that was somehow triggered only because the girls said the word "Taiwan" which of course, is a commonly known word (and it's pretty much Youtube's analytics' fault too so they should have attacked Youtube instead of the girls). And they should not have expected for every single person in the world to know about the whole situation between China and Taiwan. That's very selfish and stupid to say the least (then again, extremists everywhere always are selfish).
What's more, the Hololive company and girls have asked for forgiveness and promised not to repeat the same mistake. That should have been more than enough for a "mistake" (I believe it's not really their fault at all) that they never intended to do. But nope, they want the company to fire the 2 girls (Can you imagine that? they wanted to kill the girls careers for such a stupid reason). And now that the company insisted that they won't fire the girls (Thank you Cover for not succumbing to hatred and fearmongering), they decide to try their best to kill the company and the girls too. If you check one of their girl's stream, they are still using bots to spam their chat so they can't chat with the viewers at all.
And now suddenly, one of the girls decided to stream Muse Dash (and lots of them has done so before) and told the viewers that she really likes it and said that she might continue playing and stream the game again (and also got a lot of viewers to be interested in the game), suddenly in just a span of a few hours, they are suddenly banned from Muse Dash ever again.
Thus, I am unable to support the game and the publisher anymore because they basically succumbed to unreasonable hatred. I know that it's actually a good and unique game but my main gripe is with the antis and for me, it's time to do something (no matter how small it is) to show them that they can't keep doing whatever they want. If we let them get away with this, they will keep getting more arrogant and one day, everyone will have to succumb to them which is my main concern. It's not really about political concern for me because, as I have stated above, issue between China and Taiwan is indeed sensitive and it's for them to solve it on their own.
Sorry for the long post but I feel like I have to post this. I hope I don't offend anyone and sorry that I can't post a potato image.
Ironically most of those "Taiwanese" viewers are probably Chinese people using VPN.
That's why I think the bad review might help a bit. Then again the number of bad review is too small right now for them to actually care.
Wiki: "
Hololive Production is a Japanese virtual YouTuber talent agency owned and operated by Cover Corp. and launched in 2017."
Just to note, if they remove fanfare, you have a legitimate reason to demand a refund, so if they do so make sure to get your money back.
you sure steam will agree with that?
It does depend to each person's view but your summary is lacking. What XD has done is clearly wrong and that's why I personally believe that people should care. If you can at least produce a counter agreement then it would be better.
I do agree though that the entire fault lies on XD so I do feel kinda bad for PPG (though I'm not sure what their personal view is too) but there's no other way to get to XD except this review bomb for now.
You can try, I once refunded a game that's older than 2 weeks and I have played for more than 2 hours (can't exactly remember which one and what reason that I put) and they did refund me. You might need to have a very clear reason. Then again, even if I did play more than 2 hours, it's not by much too so if you have, for example, played for 10 hours+, it might be difficult to get a refund.
