Is sailor suit buro op?
So the new character allows you to hit chain notes simply by holding down the button, which allows for level 10 master difficulty to be cleared with ease. While not highscore breaking, it definitely makes clearing the maps a lot easier. What do you guys think?

she smells like p2w ngl

You still need to hit the start of the chains (the Double-Circled notes) with correct timing to make use of her. There is a bug with her in that some chain notes don't get auto-hit (most prominent examples being on MiLK), and ghost notes CANNOT be auto-hit (though I believe hitting them does not prevent later chain notes from being auto-hit)

You're looking at this the wrong way. It's not you STILL need to hit the start of the chain, it's you ONLY need to hit the start of the chain. So far haven't had any difficulty hitting ghost notes yet, and neither have I encountered the bug. But perhaps this was intended for less skilled players to enjoy higher difficulty maps.

you can get better combos and is helpful in harder songs for non expert players, but it's not gonna help you get any top spots that give you score boosts.

its just a way for the more casual players to experience harder songs, not game breaking,

I don't think so, no. It's not like this'll allow lower skilled players to suddenly shoot to the top scores on level 10 songs, it'll just help them actually clear level 10 stages. Not everyone is as good at rhythm games as you, some people need a handicap if they wanna do anything above, say, level 7 or 8

Like I said, it's not highscore breaking, but it removes a lot of the challenge from the game. I've also already stated that it may be intended for less skilled players in my comment. But if you remove the challenge, how is anyone going to improve? Being given a handicap doesn't help you improve, playing at the right skill level does. Rhythm game players aren't just born with the skills they have you know? Not everything is about the leaderboard, things can be broken even if they aren't on top of the leaderboards.

Different people have different skill plateaus and, crazy idea, maybe some people just don't want to put in a ton of time for incremental improvements. I like this game but I straight up cannot mash fast enough for anything above level 7 and I don't particularly want to, either. I'm sure this isn't your first rhythm game rodeo but for a lot of people, like me, it is. So I haven't spent the potential years needed to git gud enough to be amazing at this game but I still wanna be able to at least clear a level 10 song for the achievement.

Maybe, just enjoy what you're playing and stop caring about achievements? If you feel like putting in those hours are a chore, then it won't matter since this'll be not only your first, but your last rhythm game as well. We all start somewhere (from ~1-2* in osu) and nobody knows how many hours we put in rhythm games because we're having fun, if that's not how it is for you, then perhaps rhythm games aren't for you. Also, if the word achievement doesn't spell it out for you, let me break it to you. Achievements are supposed to be achieved when you accomplish a feat. You can always get those achievements later, what's more important is if you're having fun. What's an achievement worth if you don't like what you're doing anyway? Even I can't finish master 10 but even then I still have fun, when I do though, it'll be an actual achievement.
Maybe you still refuse to change your opinion, but that's fine. If it sounds like I'm telling you how to enjoy your game (it probably does), feel free to ignore this, just want to make my opinion as someone who loves rhythm games but suck at it known.

I might've worded myself a bit wrong there so let me clarify a few things:
1: you are absolutely right, this will be my last rhythm game because as a whole I don't actually like rhythm games, this one is the exception due to its ease of access, limited controls, and art direction efforts to not feel like a rhythm game.

2: I do play this for fun, I just don't care about improving at all because, as previously mentioned, I don't like the genre in general and don't intend to use these skills outside of this one game.

3: I generally don't care about achievements but it still feels good seeing a complete collection of global trophies in this. I don't particularly care about how they're obtained in-game as long as I get them eventually. My attitude about it is "the ends justify the means" since achievements don't matter beyond the good brain juice.

not really imo. she is pretty gimmicky and i prefer using a regular character
Lord Badong Jun 12, 2020 @ 12:56pm
She's helpful for clearing some difficult songs at high levels but she doesn't break the game and you don't have to use her if you don't like her. It's definitely not pay to win as this isn't really a competitive game and a skilled player will get higher scores using other girls.

Girl in black Majira still has an easier time getting a full combo with her ability to hit enemies sooner than any other character and reduced saw hitbox size. Zombie Buro still survives stages that a player isn't otherwise skilled enough to complete because she becomes invincible for a short time instead of dying. The new character's ability puts her between them, with a minor score boost from easier perfects, which I do admit gives her perfects more easily than bad girl Rin but still isn't game breaking. Can also confirm her ability is a bit bugged in Milk, as stated above, and I have noticed chains of enemies sometimes end at just the right time to make you hit a saw blade if you aren't careful in mopemope. Even if they fixed the chains that don't work right, she still wouldn't be p2w because other characters would still be better than her for everything except maybe getting AP on stages which you still need to be good enough at completing to manually get perfects on all of the enemies she doesn't mark.
