When possible, Little Devil Marija with Lillith is a scoring machine, but that's only high level songs.
Then it's up to Joker and Bunny girl with a variety of elfins. I'm still experimenting around with that myself.
If you can survive a song with Devil Marija and Lilith it's normally that combo unless there's a lot of saws, ghosts, and/or music notes. Perfects give life but greats don't. Hold notes don't give life either but you will not lose life either. This means that hitting enemies while holding a hold note will heal you. Also on songs with low note density might require super early hold notes, sometimes even hitting them as a great to survive a song. Some will require the earliest frame possible for a perfect to get the highest score. Hitting rush notes will also not heal you but it will prevent you from losing life. You can try to extend the rush note for as long as you can by hitting is slowly but keep in mind the max number of hits for the rush note so you don't miss any hits while trying to make it last as long as possible.
If a song has a lot of Saws/Ghosts/Music Notes like in Techro then there's a chance than Bunny Rin with Little Witch/Combo Dragon/Lilith is better. If there's a lot of boss hits (When the boss throws enemies at you) then Dragon Girl might be better. It's a lot harder to tell if Little Witch or Lilith are better in a song or if even Dragon Girl is better too.
When using Bunny Rin it's probably better to test all 3 elfins. Fever also affects which elfin is better since the bonus from fever might be more with Little Witch or Lilith compared to the bonus from Dragon Girl. Bunny Rin is also good on lower difficulty songs with less notes and usually is better with Lilith on those types of songs. You should still try all 3 elfins just in case.
If you can't survive the song with Devil Marija and the special notes Bunny Rin benefits from aren't abundant then Joker Buro is probably best. If the song has a max note number closer to 60 Bunny Rin might be better but if it's higher on lower difficulty songs then Joker Buro is better. Joker Buro is normally paired with Dragon Girl but the other 2 elfins can be used as well depending on the song.
These are more like things to keep in mind, try all of them and compare them to leaderboard scores. You should also keep in mind if the score other people got was auto fever, manual fever, or if it's a potentially cheated score.
If a bunch of people got the same score at the top then it might be auto fever. If there is a lot of variance in score then it might be manual, lots of scores will probably have a better score with manual. It's not always true though since some auto fever routes might have extra fever hits that require better timing to hit for more points or will require intentional greats for more score.
As a side note for Little Witch, because great is half the point value of a perfect without any bonuses and a fever doubles point values for greats and perfects; getting a great during a fever with Little Witch is worth more than a nonfever perfect. This means than it might be worth getting a great on a song with Little Witch if it doesn't negatively affect the rest of the fever route, and is an extra fever hit that you can only hit in fever as a great and not a perfect. A good example of this happening is Tokei no Heya Master.
Sorry for the long essay, hopefully someone out there finds this useful.
