Finished the game.
Combat is clunky.
Level design is at least 30 years old.
Bad telegraphs, poor boss mechanics, 60fps+ makes them invisible sometimes. (thanks for insta casts and 360 degree attacks, while animation clearly telegraph FRONT attack and not bs 360 no scope MLG pro John Elden Ring gay sex gigachad mob attack)
Story is mediocre at best, but hey it's ANIME right? boobs? TITS even
DS2 is a masterpiece compared to this.

Code vein is fine, this is an instance where I wish there was a maybe button. There are highs, and there are very low lows. The Cathedral of the Sacred Blood for example is possibly the lowest low in the game, it is the worst area in any game I have ever played, if you have seen it you know why I think that. Do not go into this game expecting Dark Souls level combat that is really interesting and engaging, it is really average. Not only this, but they also pretty much remake the exact same area for the Crypt Spire. On top of that, most of, if not all, of the boss fights are average at best, with all of them either being too easy or just a pain in the ass, like the rip off Ornstein and Smough who have the smallest arena I have ever seen. Even with that, I still give it a positive review, there are lots of good parts like the art style, character customization, and the interesting story. But don't go into this expecting just Dark Souls but anime, it isn't nearly as good and often feels like it's not fully complete. I do still recommend it however to people who enjoy the souls-like genre, as it can be fun from time to time.
