No one is stopping you to do the remake. What we are asking is that you make available the old versions. The older versions are more playable than what you have right now so while we wait for your remake we'd rather play the old version (in case you guys leave us hanging again we'll have a decent version to play). Don't you keep back-ups of your old versions?
Without going to specifics, I recommend using Google. You can fetch both the v1.33 and v0.222 versions of the game via Google search results. I did the same, as I found v1.4 to be unplayable in its current state.
I don't think it's an infrastructure issue. I have a lot of EA games like 7d2d and project zomboid where they have multiple betas and alphas you can choose from. If Freeman devs have backups of old versions they should put it out there so players can play the working version than the crap that we have right now.
