City, land size, and happiness
At the moment maximum land size of a city is 25/25. I have built most buildings (not more space now) but still it is not enough to keep up happiness.
Population is 3325/5000 and all land is used for buildings, happiness is only 33% with "no taxes".
At the moment it is not possible to keep a city calm and the riots destroy all your efforts.

Suggestions
1) Land size increase up to 50 to get all buildings. But even all buildings will not be enough to keep City calm.
2) Reduce this happiness drop in the city, this is the only feature that totally sucks at the moment.
Reduce the happiness drop by population growth / demand for buildings by 25% - 50% may be balanced.
3) Upgrades of buildings to higher level and more effort. For example a garrison adding 15 more soldiers with every lvl upgrade e.g.

How does "happiness" work? I have assigned companion mayors and there does not seem to be any way for me to adjust anything to keep the people calm. At this point is there anything that can be done, or just wait for update to build more stuff ?

Tanks to all.

Tina, as I have said before, really good game. Thanks for all of y'alls efforts.

Currently playing the test build. Something I've noticed is that there's no population cap and no way to completely halt population growth without jacking up the tax rate and making everyone angry and riot. As the population gets higher and high, infrastructure, security, agriculture, and business numbers will start dropping regardless of what buildings you have (around 10000+ people) and setting the city to Child Control still allows for 12-80+ population growth. It becomes a downward spiral as happiness starts tanking since everything else is dropping, then riots break out and things gets destroyed (around 12000+ pop) while the city literally destroys itself from overpopulation.

Is this intentional? Would be somewhat poetic if so.

I don't know if the mayor system is working correctly. I appointed a companion with a 6 finance and 7 city management to run one of my cities, and it does nothing but riot and destroy anything build there while the Mayor roams the map with his personal army.
