Copyright claims on youtube videos?

There is nothing more than i hate than having copyright claims because of a song that plays a few seconds in a 25min video.

Why do devs don't take care of these things?

Usually if you have gameplay with music. They can't do anything. Some kind of loophole. i have multiple FFXIV music videos uploaded and they've been up for years without trouble yet i've seen other uploaders get their vids removed for just uploading the music by itself.

Or maybe because in some unknown reality in some unforseen time. I am cute, Therefore youtube cannot be mad at me. I knew eventually the "Take a picture of my 5 o'clock shadow while scarfing down a poptart" look would eventually charm someone.

this post is so funny. actually complaining to game devs because of copyright on youtube.. wtf... this is 100% the guys fault. if u use copyrighted music your gona gett claimed. any decent youtuber knows this and thats why they dont have it playing.

The problem is how would someone know before hand that the music in game doesn't belong to the developers.
So how is it funny?
Seems like you and a few other people have overlooked that fact.

i mean if your on youtube you know any music can be copyrighted thats why u dont play it :P music in games are usaly the same they buy rights to use it in the game but they dont OWN it. im pretty sure this is basic stuff

That's not entirely true as a lot of developers would contract artists to compose for them, Which would make the copyright owner the developers as would be stated in their contract.

I only know of 1 other case where people got hit by a claim due to music from a game and the developers of that game settled it.

Youtube recently instated a policy that pressures copyright claimers to not claim stuff like this. Especially short bits of music, for example from a car radio passing by as you're filming. I haven't watched this, however it seems this might be able to fall under that new policy.

But then why none of our videos was blocked by YouTube?🤔 and also many other youtubers having no problem with having music turned on in the game for the video... or it’s just about luck? I am not really familiar with YouTube tbh
