Ammo that burns off bars...
I really don't understand how incendiary ammo got through development. An ammo that burns off peoples bars is insane. So now when I get shot & downed I lose 2+ bars instead of just one? If incendiary ammo becomes meta, which I am almost certain it will, it will change the game in a negative way. Expect an ever increasing outcry against incendiary ammo burning bars off in the coming year(s) after the custom ammo patch launches.

It takes two hits in quick succession to ignite a player, in the dev stream they said incendiary is more for pve to ignite flammable targets or instantly detonate explosive barrels. I think its fine, but if you are experiencing the 2 bar loss consistently then they may need to tweak the ignite time between hits, but so far I have not yet encountered a multiple bar loss when fighting a player using incendiary ammo. (Not saying it doesn't happen, just comparing experiences in game).

You lose a bar for being shot twice in quick succession, and then when you die you lose a bar. That's 2 bars from getting downed once. I haven't experienced a 3 bar loss yet, but 2 is bad enough. This doesn't even consider the poor situation you're in if you survive the second shot and are on fire. You have to stop everything and put yourself out or yolo and risk even more bars. It's quite OP imo. All because your opponent spent an extra couple Hunt Dollars.

I really think as soon as this patch goes live people are gonna catch on. It's gonna be one of those things were as soon as you see tracer ammo you're gonna roll your eyes at the sweaty player who brought incendiary. I ofc could be wrong, but we're talking about ammo that burns off health chunks. I just can't believe this is getting introduced to the game.

maybe they should provide new ways to regain lost health bars

just banish the boss and you are good to go

Have you played the actual test before writing this post? You have to be hit twice to start burning, for many weapons 2 hits mean you are already dead, but if not, you start burning your max health, not current health, so compared to the bleeding ammo you have a plenty of time to put the flames off without risking death. And if you die to this ammo, you are not burning on the ground, even if they shoot your dead body. It is not meta on the test server, in reality it is rather weak. And if you think that constant dying and picking up is meta enough to think about how many bars you loose, I would say competent players will either push when another team lost a player, or just make sure he does not get up

I've been shot twice, lost a health chunk pretty much instantly from the fire, and then died a split second later. BB 2 bars. The second someone sets you on fire in long range they push position, and if it's mid/close range they just yolo bum rush you to press the issue. So for a small amount of Hunt Dollars you can tilt the table that hard against other players. That's not a situational style ammo at all.

It's not meta, it's the game! Have you played Hunt: Showdown? You can have multiple engaging fire fights with multiple downs versus multiple different teams in a match. Getting downed once really alters your capabilities. Now we're burning health chunks with ammo on top of it? Sure you can bring back bars with bosses but that's not always an option.

That's because it's... a test server? There is a lot of things to try out and 'oooo & aaaah' over. Once the content is live people will mostly only be purchasing ammo for its effectiveness. I think people are heavily underestimating the power of Incendiary and it's going to quickly become meta with several guns.

People have been asking for this *shrug*

That's why I'm encountering players with Bornheim extended pistols loaded with incendiary bullets. I get hit twice in quick succession and I'm already on fire.

I'm already starting to question why is Crytek making hunters with small bars just not worth it in the end.

I have seen two things that work against incendiary ammo, one is salve skin. You may still loose a bar but you can focus more on killing your enemy. Its actually the easiest option to take and it doesnt cost alot. Another thing I found was when I was using fanning with the lemat with that ammo. I killed one but had to back off since I lost almost all my hp. The enemy team threw choke bombs everywhere. So if your running into the bounty zone or into an area with players, just through a bunch of choke bombs and rush in.

I haven't seen that one yet, but seems like an easy enough fix. Devs should just remove that ammo type for fast fire rate weapons. The nagant officer can't use dum dum rounds I'm assuming for that very reason. As for that clip, that player got very aggressive after having his bar charcoaled after being ignited once so I just don't think he played the situation very well. As for the 25 health bars, I like them in the game, I just wish there was a bit more customization over then since your health bar set up is a big part of the game (although maybe respecing kind of let's you do that, I've only used that with traits, so idk). Personally I prefer having a 25 health bar up front because it mitigates your overall health loss if you go down. And again, I just haven't experienced the incendiary rounds enough to have any useful feedback one way or another. I'll keep playing the test server and, if this is as OP as people on here are saying, I'm sure I'll start encountering it. But this is what the TS is for, they knew going in that the system wasn't going to be perfect so we got to iron the kinks by trying these things out.

Incendiary ammo is only OP on Bornheim and levering imo. It's pretty annoying on shotguns as well, but not nearly as much.

I'm still not used to these changes and I'm still adjusting. I had to help out my team mates after all and we did that fight.

But I agree, or at least make spam-capable weapons needing several bullets to light someone on fire. Right now, I don't think causing someone to bleed at a range works that well compared to being set on fire as bleeding doesn't permanently destroy health chunks.

It would be great if there are other ways to get health chunks back aside from banishing a boss monster if players will keep on using incendiary bullets but I doubt that will happen.

EDIT: I just read the recent patch notes. Setting hunters on fire in 2 shots with incendiary bullets is no longer possible and should be fixed.

Everytime i fight against someone using incendiary ammo i feel like they are at a dissadventage.

I think people only pick those for the cool tracers lol.

No, read the whole line in the notes. The fix was not about needing 2 shots to ignite, it was about the delay betwen them.

Oh, my mistake. It was pretty confusing.
