Assassin: is this a feature or a bug?

I am not sure if the Assassin has some phases where he is invincible, but I clearly hit him one more time when he was already at 0hp. There is even a second shot after that for which I did not even get a hit marker.

The clones are invincible, but they disappear after being hit. You can tell if a clone hits you, with seeing bugs on your screen!

You are both saying I might have hit a clone, but clearly he is only starting to clone in those seconds, so that means he does have some invincibility frames there, right?

His week spot can be found in the middle of his chest (where the fleshy part is showing), hitting that stuns him and prevents him from cloning as well.

You did get 2 hitmarkers at one point before he cloned and attacked, he probably had a tiny bit of HP left.
