Possibility for modding?

I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but for some reason, I really want to replace Shantae's sprites with intentionally crummy drawings of her. Just for the heck of it, really. So I wanna know if it's possible to mod the game.

This game is sadly very hard to mod. There's been ways of doing so, but the few things that have been able to modify from the game itself it has only been a few fan translations (so, text), as well as some fonts, and swapping out some spritesheets, (for example, shantae's beach mode spritesheet on top of shantae's normal spritesheet) but ONLY swapping them. Modifying these is still impossible.

I wish though that modding were possible in the future, though. I'd love to code into the game some Discord Integration (Rich Presence mainly).

I feel like it can be possible. The Spriter's Resoruce has ripped the sprites from the files.

Sorry for reviving this but... can I have a link to that mod of Shantae beach mode over regular shantae?

I think it's a matter of simply swapping and renaming files.
