My main focus right now is that we all have a stable platform game to play on first!!
Thanks! :)
Good job guys, continue like that!
I can predict a huge success and many $ in your pocket if mods & multiplayer get implemented. Because you know, Farming Simulator get his popularity from mods AND multiplayer. Many (MANY) players from FS will switch to your game if these things get implemented.
I play on farming simulator since 2003 (yes from Simtractor, then FS 2008, 2011, etc.), I'm in this domain since a long time and I know MANY people who saw your game but no one want to buy it because its single player only, it can get boring very fast when you're alone. Your game absolutely need mods and dedicated servers.
Think about that! And sorry for my english, not my main language.
I prefer a bug free and fleshed out singleplayer experience.
Without mods and multiplayers, this game will be forgotten and will never get the popularity it deserve. So yeah, a bug free experience is important but a MP & Mods too. Look at Gold Rush ... so many people wanted an MP and mods, develeppers said "No", and now their game is almost forgetten...
Look at their stats :

Someone saw the potential of a "Gold Rush Multiplayer" and started a project about it :
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1082450/Gold_Hunter/
I predict a much MORE success to Gold Hunter than Gold Rush, the recipe to success is easy when you have a good "base", and Lumbrjack Simulator HAVE that good base.
And yes completely agree , if Gold Rush had multiplayer that game would of done so much better, hell the whole idea of doing that work solo doesn't fit at all.
That is a very interesting post you said coolfarmer containing the stats of Gold Rush.
Yes I agree, this game does need multiplayer and mod support! Logging is usually not a solo experience in real life and with the game's current vehicles such as the skidder, that would certainly benefit from multiplayer to have someone bunching, skidding, processing and loading.
I can attest to this because I constantly have been creating forestry mods for Farming Simulator 19. Why? Because it has multiplayer!! and I play with a decent sized crew where everyone gets to have their own job and have fun. It provides variety and ya basically a chill place to zone out with friends doing their stuff to all collaborate as a team. That is what keeps me coming back to it!
Ya without the ability of mods or multiplayer, FS19 would be boring as hell!
But I want Lumberjack Sim to do well because this game has better terrain, tree physics and actual tree limbs where as Farming Simulator lacks this!
However, the game is still very early in its stage with many requested features being asked. Im glad at least the actual cutting and physics is almost nailed down. Seems right now ppl are reporting a few camera issues and stuff. So the basic game frame work is still being worked out. Then I imagine the game will get more content down the road for the base single player game, and then finally multiplayer and mod support. Again we have to realize the game is still an extremely Early Access title and just being done by 1 person I believe. Also there are like no other forestry games out there!! So i'm very happy that a game such as Lumberjack Simulator even exists!
We all just have to keep pitching in the ideas and I guess give it some time for the game to mature a little more! Developer is constantly trying to push mini updates out.
There is always that person doing the whole "no fun allowed" thing.
Cool.
But yeah, this game both itches and needs co-op elements (or multiplayer elements) to keep this alive. It is indeed niche, all the more reason to make it playable with friends using Steam friend integration, or something along those lines. There are people who would play this with friends most likely boasting it to others. Word of mouth is powerful.
If you guys have time to lose, go read the multiplayer topic on steam forum of Gold Rush, 28 pages of fun! hahaha MP & Mods is a must, Farming Simulator is a SOLID proof.
You all should likely just implement multiplayer into it. Anyone who finds the vote, is looking because they want multiplayer and anyone else, couldn't be bothered. I play gold rush the game as well. Players have been crying for years about mp in it. Although I actually know these devs from the unity asset store, before they made gold rush the game. We use their ultimate water asset, but it has been changed so much that it isn't even the same now. When they got the discovery channel bid + $1mill, they totally stopped updating their water asset. When we tried to get help with it, they literally said, what do we care, we already got your money. I sense this developer is much more kind and easy to deal with already, just by seeing how much they comment and reply. Good show and good job, can't wait to see what this game brings.
I also wonder what engine you're using?
