How long is the grind compared to Eve?
It takes 20+ years to max out in Eve and it's pretty much impossible to be good at everything or even be "winning" the game. I am just curious what the comparison is to Albion, as I am equally interested in both games right now.

Albion is MUCH faster, you can "max out" a single weapon in a few hours playing solo. You can lvl it even further, for that you'll need to max out all weapons in the same category, but it's not required until you have a good grip on the game and it fgives a miniscule advantage).

Gathering tiers and specs require a lot of time by comparison, you can get max tier in a single profession within two weeks if you use learning points only, and much faster if you wish to really grind for it. I believe you can get a tier 8 gathering in a week if you no-life it. Specs will take time and more a long-term progression, and you'll be able to use learning points for them as well.

Crafting is more of economic grind, you can pretty much spec a chef for example in a single day, but it'll require a lot of money, 100 mil at least. You can grind it for cheap if you use focus only.

Money is the main "grind" here as it directly affects what equipment you can use frequently, aas in EVE. You can get a mil killing mobs in black zone mists or gathering t5 resources in a yellow zone. You can get hundred mils by ratting black zone statics or being a god in mist PVP. Flipping is also an option.

Both focus and learning points are gained passively if you have premium. I have a premium from a founder pack, and staring for scratch on EU server I already have enough spare money to purchase two month of premium afterward.

The only timegate in Albion is learning points, but it is applied to gathering mostly and you can literally just lvl it up manually if you do not wish to wait. You don't need to wait two weeks for lvl 5 drones to be available for you.

Thanks so basically, while skills take longer to grind in Eve, "getting rich" takes longer to grind in Albion?

Just like Eve, albion is p2w. You can buy yourself "books" ingame and skill up in a day, just like you would buy yourself injectors from Eve.

So swipe your card right and walla. Whales do it all the time. Normal players grind.

Same with "rich". Either you grind or swipe your card.

Metal's answer is basically a big skill issue of a player who lost in PVP to a dude in better gear and more skill, and now is salty, nothing new. EXP books are literally the worst thing you can "whale" for, btw. You get something around 9 mil EXP for month premium price, which is not enough for even a single weapon.

Getting rich is complicated, as in Eve, because of player based economy and permadeath. You can get 40 mil (two and a half month of premium at currentl price or several really gucci sets) in a minute by stumbling upon unclaimed .4 resource, or gettinmg really lucky drop in a chest, or you can find a gucci player sitting on his knees because he was knocked by mobds and you just claim his loot for free. You can also be a rat.
Passive income from your island and chef crafting can be like 5 mil a day after several months of playing (you need specs). You can make 200-300k a day from farming with no specs from day one if you want.
Safe areas offer much less rewards, but you can still get a mil (and a half) via gathering or by lucky drops.

Plus you can just use dirt cheap sets and have fun.
