cant link account to steam

So I started today, and got hooked really fast. i first downloaded from the website but then i realized that the game is on steam and decided to play on steam since my account have a lot of steam wallet from selling items in Dota battle pass so i downloaded it again but now i cant login. any tips??

The same here. I started playing on mobile and decided to download it here on Steam too, but I want to connect with my account, which I used in the mobile version.
I don't want to create another account just to be able to play here...

I still couldn't connect through Steam, but I found a launcher (launch_albion_online) in the game folder that allowed me to run it like the mobile version of the game.

It is located at the following location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Albion Online\game\

Unfortunately I don't know why it is not working with the Steam launcher.

Same here, thanks to Josh Strife's video. Too bad they can't manage multiple platforms per account, like the ads say.

Did you by any chance make an account through a different platform? (not steam)

You cannot connect an already existing account with steam, that error message is misleading unfortunately but will be changed soon.

You now have 3 options:

- play on the native client (download through albiononline.com)
- make a new account through steam that is then linked to your steam account
- play through steam but open the game through the launcher file (this is basically like using the native client and you won't get any of the advantages steam usually offers, like the achievements etc)
for the latter:
- right click the game in your library
- manage
- browse local files
- open "game" folder
- use launch_albion_online.exe

As was already quoted, using an already existing account on steam is unfortunately not possible.
However, there is one correction to be made, if you have an account that was created through steam you can then also use it on any other platform we are offering using the same credentials.

Unfortunately this is a technical limitation from steams side that we can't work around. Already existing accounts cannot afterwards be linked with your steam profile.

Sorry I have no Albion-Account from Steam! I made a download of the game from official game-side and always get the error I wrote. Also support from Albion was not able to solve the problem - so I deleted my account because I cant play. I cant understand that noone at Albion is able to solve the problem with Code 0xc0000005! Sad but hey - so I have some money for other games I can play!

They will, it is just a temporary thing until the deletion is completed
