Skill cap?
I watched a review of the game and most of the comments are complaining about large groups ganking small groups, and not being able to play solo.. Im wondering, is it possible for a solo to 1v3 if everyones equally geared if that solos good enough? Or can the 3 man just mash keys on you and kill you regardless of what you do?

Yes you can 1v3 if you have the right weapon for the fight and are skilled enough

Also wondering, if im in tier 3 armour, can i outplay someone in tier 4 armour, or even 5? Or is there heavy emphasis on the tier of armour / weapon you use?

Gear is very important so it’s highly unlikely unless they are complete bots but not impossible

It is actually pretty common for someone in lower-tier armor to beat someone in higher-tier. T3 is pretty weak, but t4 beating t5 happens regularly, as does t7 beating t8. Four reasons, first one is skill: player who has worked their way up beating one who swipes their credit card to advance. Second is spec: in the game, using a weapon earns levels of specialization. A t4 can exceed a t5 in power if the t4 has high enough spec. Third is enchantment: items crafted with uncommon, rare, exceptional, or pristine resources are more powerful than those crafted with same-tier lower or unenchanted resources. A 5.2 (expert’s, rare resources) item has the same power as a 6.1 (master’s, uncommon) item of the same type, etc. Fourth is is build: a player who selects armor, weapons, cape, food, and potions that all complement each other can beat a higher-tier player who picks random items that look or sound cool but are not complementary. I guess you could count numbers as a fifth, groups in 4.2 and 5.1 gear love to kill individuals in 8.3 and do so regularly.
