Well, this is just a lie.
well obviously, everyone is used to being unable to say anything besides GG becaus you will get banned for "hate speech" or some other retarded nonsense
Its probably because you are new. I been playing for five years and have never been invited randomly to anything. Ironically I am elder in five different gathering and crafting skills and have zero PvP kills, literally I have yet to get my first kill LOL. I'm literally stacked in achievements from PvE, crafting and skill tree, but yet to get my first kill in five years. I play around two hours a day during the week and about eight hours on the weekends and I spam in recruiting chat "Looking to join English speaking guild based in Lymhurst". If you get an invite send me the lead. Player name in game is "Pectoral".
Those also sell your data, if they have it. Legally you can tell discord (or any company the sells personal data) not to sell it and they have to comply. But if you think Discord are the only ones doing it, all encompassing companies, not just VOIP ones. You are in for a rude awakening. Even banks sell your personal data. So long as it follows the law. Oh, and lets not forget the companies that know everyone: Apple, Google, and Amazon. (Might as well throw any social media in here too). You put ANY information in ANY of these things, your data has already been sold.
Oh, and Discord is leagues above those companies, where software is concerned. I have used them all. It's kind of moot, to worry about Discord selling your information, when everything you touch does the same thing. It is unfortunate, but the truth.
I've been playing MMORPGs since lineage released and then the 90s there was voice chat it was very primitive and crappy mostly staticy but it did work most of the time Ventrilo was made around 1998 and I think TeamSpeak was 2001
and also Counter-Strike is the oldest game with voice chat it's had it since day one
Or people who you know... cannot speak due to birth defect or injury... People with extreme social anxieties.. People who have had dental work recently..
Its kind of a dumbass move to call other people dumbasses...
I recommend them to play more simpler games not to be a ♥♥♥♥ it just makes sense it requires High reflexes and an excellent communication to play games like these if you can't do it then you can't do it
and for those people Discord is still a good option cuz it has text to speech if people turned it on Good Luck convincing a guild leader to make that a mandatory thing
player-vs-player is not really meant for people with severe disabilities I have some disabilities that trip me up to there's a lot of games I cannot play cuz of narrative games I can't really enjoy them cuz I'm not very good at reading cuz I'm dyslexic games I can't take the text from the game and paste it into something else or paste text in I can't really play either
i have played plenty of moba games and you absolutely do not need voice chat to pvp
hell watching lewpac 5v5 in hellgates makes me cringe, The fact that he lands a massive stun and tells his teammates about it ahead of time and they are still too brain dead to focus someone down is beoynd me. Honestly if in dota someone lands a 5 man cc ult and you dont instinctively know what to do then you are just plainly bad. Like how hard is it to focus the right tartget ??? i mean hey healer is stuned and half hp, why is healer not instantly focused and burned down ???
im sorry but voice chat is just a cop out for bad players who need their hand held because they have no clue what they should be doing on their own. Hell it is no different then DBM in wow raids
2. Travelling naked from city to city costs you nothing.. you can buy a set there.. If you've been playing for "5" years you shoulnd't even be bothered with money. You should flow around in Silver.
3. Playing "out of Lymhurst", what does that even mean.. you'll need to travel like 3-4 zones to get into a red zone which gives optional pvp.. and through blackzone you get constant pvp..
4. Black zone portals limit you to a 7 day "hold", you can still reset it by crossing the bz map trough the desired portal to reset it.
5. Why type when you can speak all in all? Even if it's not your first language, even if you have a speaking disability.. Nobody ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cares about it. You get the job done, everybody happy.
6. Honestly, the way i see it.. this game is not for you then and YOU are actually the problem here. Not Discord/Skype/Teamspeak or whatever. The fact an entire world can connect trough voice is quite cool if you ask me. The fact you don't want to participate in such a thing doesn't mean the world changed.. It means you're stuck in history and refuse to go along with something good.
7. You're gonna tell me you'd play counter strike without using your mic?
You're gonna tell me you'd play a battle royale/survival game without using your mic?
You're gonna tell me you'd do raids/Dungeons with friends/guildies without using your mic?
That usually never works. My suggestion is to go on the Albion online website and look in the forums instead. There you will see if they require you to use Discord or not and any other requirements. If you've been playing for five years, you'll be snapped up immediately.
I've played computer games since 1985 so I've definitely been around the block for a while. I remember Roger Wilco, Teamspeak and a bunch of other voice IP software back in the day. I also don't remember there being any MMOs in the 1990s or any organised multiplayer games at all. Then again, I mostly played point n click adventure games in those days.
Well that sentence sums you up pretty good right there. I don't mind anyone using Discord, nor do I want to change how anyone wants to play. I'm simply making and observation and stating my preference in my play style. Somehow, I'm part of the problem? What problem is that? I think today there is a lot of arrogance and lack of empathy for others and it makes this world we live in a little more difficult for those of us who are humbled in our position and respect others. Your attitude and indifference towards others won't get you far in this world and will only make you more angered and disappointed that much more as you constantly are displeased with others around you because they don't meet your definition what you think should or shouldn't be. Bless you son and hopefully you find peace along your travels.
