How is the small scale pvp now?

Curious if this is just a zerg fest all around or is there a place for small scale pvp?

zergfest mostly or group of 3 to 5 trying to gank player who are alone

me and a freind still having no problem duoing, ofc alot harder peak time but we just use cheaper gear.
