1) There are banks in the main cities and starter towns on the main land. I advise getting past the tutorial quickly. There is little benefit I can think of to staying there. The starting towns will work well for you while you get the hang of things, but are limited to T3 resources. Beyond that, you will have to move to the main city for work benches. I personally advise moving sooner than later; it will cost a bit more, but you wont be bothered by having to haul thousands of items when you ultimately decide to move.
Pre-2) The auction system is wonky, but works. I feel it could be more intuitive, and as stated above, I suggest going to the main city before selling stuff. Auctions are "that market" only, not the whole continent.
2) To create a sell order, go to the market, and you should have 4 tabs; buy, sell, orders, and pending. The tab you want will be the sell (second) tab. Turn off all filters at the top, or if you have a packed inventory put in a filter for what you are planning to sell to make it easier to find. Then you should be able to click the sell(?) button next to it which will bring up 4 options and an amount. You can Buy, Buy Order, Sell, and Sell Order. Sell will simply sell at a pre-determined price, but you dont have to wait. Putting in a sell order says you want to sell the item for a specific price, which then would be put in the amount bar just below. Once you place the buy/sell order it will then show in the pending tab. Additionally, a new tab will appear if you buy something (it goes to the tab instead of direct to your inventory).
3) Yes, and I have used it, but I think you would probably be better off just selling the item for whatever the market will pay and buying the resources. Granted, I have not done this with anything above T3, so I do not know if this is a viable option. This can be accomplished in the side tabs of a repair merchant. The tabs are to repair, salvage, and reroll.
EDIT --- If you land in Fort Sterling (snowy mountain biome) I advise rerolling a new character or planning to make a long trek to a new town. A single player currently owns the entire city, so you will be paying in blood to use any work benches.
Ok so my guess is there is no Orders possible in the Tutorial area, make sens since taking my time I've reached the end in 90m or so.
Avoid Fort Sterling, rgr that
EDIT: I've decided to go to Forest Cross, figured the resources would fit best my current build o.O
You can build a house/houses on a private island. The only kicker is you have to have 30 days of premium to buy an island. Its very cheap for the first purchase, but scales pretty drastically after that. The first purchase is around 7k silver if I remember correctly. Then 20k, Then 90k, then 300,k and I am currently at 950k or so.
If you like the game, I do recommend getting premium both to support the game and for the mild bonuses you get. You can also buy the island, then upgrade it without being premium. You can also work toward saving coin and buying premium with in game silver (takes about 4.7million though).
Side note, from my point of view, silver gains scales with you pretty proportionally. When I started, the 10k for a new mount seemed massive. Now I go out and get that much just in cash items let alone resources. I frequently sell items for tens of thousands, and I am not even in the higher tiers yet. I just banked my first million silver, but I probably have about 5 million tied up in resources in the market, and another 10 million in stored resources. I have only been playing about 3 weeks (with a full time job).
EDIT - I have seen people make the 4+million in the 3 days of free premium that you get as a new player. This is atypical and I wouldnt expect to do so without knowing what you are doing, just stating its possible. I fully intend on buying my second month with silver.
Nother quick question: 5) How does one craft one of those T3-T4 Transport Ox? I'm overload all the time lol...
Its only partially behind a paywall, there are other means to get premium, but it will take some time (as stated above with buying premium with silver). However, I am of the mind that if I like a "F2P" game, I will support it at least some. The gathering bonus from premium is nice as well.
You can also get a town plot and build a house there, but that would be vastly more expensive than buying premium with silver. Just saying its an option.
To farm/raise animals, you essentially need an island. Tier 2+ islands have farm plots that can be used for herbs, crops, farm animals, and wild animals. This was pretty much the biggest kicker to why I decided to go premium for at least a month. I wanted to be able to cook.
There ARE ways around this, but its pretty tough. Many zones have plots that you can farm on, but you cant just walk up and farm. They are owned by guilds. If you can somehow manage to get into a guild that owns one, and also somehow convince that guild to let you use the farm land, that would allow you to raise animals/crops in large quantities. I believe a territory farm plot has 12-15 plots(?) or something along those lines; each plot has 9 spots to work with. I would kill for a chance to use one of these plots, but its not so easy to get ahold of. I believe a fully upgraded island has 6 farm plots, so this would already be similar to 2 fully upgraded islands. Luckily I have 2 friends playing that both went premium and allowed me to use their farm land.
If you want to make the trek, ill hook you up with an ox if you make your way to Martlock. *This offer is only for Neo*
Also that offer for an Ox is very tempting
I'm honestly very happy with any piece of info I manage to get
The 3 day bonus of premium is more like a premium lite. It doesnt have all of the benefits and normal premium would. I believe* it does contain the below listed benefits.
Premium bonuses:
Increase your skill progression speed with a 50% fame bonus
Master the Destiny Board faster with regenerating Learning Points
Collect 50% more Silver and loot from killing mobs
Improve your crafting with regenerating crafting focus
Become a master gatherer with a 50% bonus on your gathering yield
Enjoy a 100% increase on your farming yield and animal growth times on your player island
Boost your trading profits by having market taxes reduced by 50%
It does not include (AFAIK):
Queue priority
Enough time to buy an island
Also note - premium is per character, not per account. This upset me at first, but it makes sense. Since you can choose your class/skills whenever you want, there is no real point of having more than 1 character. There are some reasons I could see alts being viable. The big thing I was upset about is that I wasnt able to buy multiple islands with my premium status.
EDIT: Been told by a Mod in-game earlier that it wasn't possible... :(
Wondering if I'll be able to buy more Islands in different Cities later tho
Gonna take me a few days to lvl it to 3 tho heh...
So you're saying one can only own a single Island? Thought it was 1 Island per City o.O
