DON'T use your learning points until later in the game; you can achieve the same for now by just continuing to do what you're doing.
Do you recommend going for the hightier weapons early, or is it better to gain the ability to craft a variety of stuff?
probably you have to be a "resource" harvester. You need some focus to harvesting also for crafting.
For example, crafting a "sword" needs "metal" + "leather". Few weapons only need 1 type of resources. At the end you need primarily metals and other resources wood, fiber, leather.
Getting crafting levels to "Adept" level is easy, you can first try to reach all type of weapons able to craft at "adept" level.
Market is running by players and there are different demands for different kind of weapons. On "Adept" level you will understand and experiment which are more demanding by players.
So, you can easily decide to getting a crafting skill on which weapons at expert level or higher.
For leveling crafting skill, you can craft a lot + putting those weapons to learning tab at crafting stations and get more "fame", fame is kind of "xp".
For different type of weapons there are different crafting stations, Warrior's Forge, Mage's Tower and Hunter's Lodge. I suggest visit all of them and see what you can craft.
On the other hand you may want to craft also "armors" please see tabs on crafting stations for what you can craft there.
If you want to be a merchant, you need a strong market. If you are around "Lymhurst" get rid of that city, it's most toxic city in this game and usually crafting prices on stations are high (which those prices are set by users).
For example, Fort Sterling and Thetford has a nice market and fair crafting prices.
When you use city map "N" key, you will see many different crafting stations with different crafting prices, go to cheapest one (all of them owned by players not system).
With "food" buffs you can craft more quality weapons. And "fishing" has a big role on that buff foods, don't pass fishing, you will need it.
Ox mounts are your friends. They are exists for carrying goods. So you will buy a "ox" mount and in time will upgrade.
If you have any more question please write here.
Thanks for the introduction. Funny that I already am in this city, but I dont need any public crafting station since I already found a guild.
