No, is not.
It's an enhanced version and "story it’s massively changed". You shouldn't play the first one, even more, the saved file won't work with the new one.

I completely played the "Festival of Magic" version (story, grinds and achievements), is there any drastic change in the gameplay that is worth playing in this new version?

There's a lot of small changes, as well as the addition of a bunch of side quests. They also changed the story pacing and added a few scenes that might make it easier to follow what's going on.
