Unable to plant algae grass

I have the unused fertile soil, and I have great algae in my inventory, but I cannot plant algae grass. I can plant the mushrooms and wheat, and both of those will flag as 'waiting for resources if there isn't enough available, but the algae does nothing.

It needs to be planted on fertile soil with 2 blocks of water over it.

Really should say any of that in game, somewhere a bit more obvious if it already is, spent 30 mins trying to figure this out.

I tried so many different ways to plant it and nothing worked (with soil, without soil, under lots of water, above the water, ete etc....thank you

I always failed ... at 1 - 4 water tile over fertiled soil ...

have lucky once, one tile can be plant with algae, but then the tiles beside it cannot be plant again ...

can you make it easier to plant algae??? make greater tolerance or just make every fertile soil under water worked ... in my 6th replay with the game, and I still cannot plant algae ...

i try planting them underwater and it keep telling me ''mark at least one background block''
so i put a fertile soil under 3 cube of water and still don'T let me

Are you marking the fertile soil or the background over it?
