Yup. Make granite blocks in the quarry, and dwarves with the "Restoration" job will repair buildings with them.

Keep 5-10 Blocks of granite on hand at all times. They will repair any building that gets damaged. Also keep 5-10 Crushed Granite on hand for Fecunity for the farms. if you can't build blocks, mine the granite rock which has a 2.7% chance to drop Blocks.

As soon as I had granite blocks the reparation was actually pretty fast, I think faster than rebuilding.

But I think there should be a "repair building" button where I can tell my dwarfs "I really want you to repair this particular building as soon as possible for whatever reason"

repairing buildings seems to be a very low priority. My dwarves will get to it when they have NOTHING else to do. It's too bad there is not a way to click on a building and say repair this building now.

Yeah, that should be really a thing. None of my dwarves cares about repairing the building that got destroyed by an attack, seems I must make it their own option to get it fixed :(

All I do is shut down (inactivate) the 4-5 other main producing buildings and ensure I have a lot of granite blocks--- if I don't have any (which I likely don't since... why aren't they repaired?) -- I buy all the stuff from the world marketplace. Then since they will be bored, they'll go buy and repair everything. Then re-activate the buildings.

Yeah, but when you have about 1 or 2 dozen buildings, shuting them down is quite a inconvenience. You need the ability to prioritize tasks in a way, like you can in Oxygen Not Included or Rim World

I have a dwarf dedicated to Restoration. Disabled all other tasks and now this dawrf repairs everything and refills all my drills. Never got idle so far as I have a good amount of drills to provide enough work.

each block restores like 500 health to the building being repaired. If your room is destroyed divide the room hp with the 500 per block repair and you will know how many blocks you need.
