Crusader (Gladiator) sword?

So I've got to the point where there are just 6 regions left, and one of the things they are asking for doesn't seem to exist. That's the crusader sword.

The mini-icon looks exactly the same as warrior sword, so is it just a legacy thing that hasn't been updated yet?

I have almost every piece from the tech tree up to, and including level 5 stuff, minus the automated stuff and one other that has nothing to do with weapons, in cat 5.

I've had the request a few times, but no matter how many warrior swords I have made they wont do and the region losses.

The "Gladiator's Sword" tech you get from the tier 5 "Sharp Edge Tempering" research doesn't work? It's got a little helmet-thing on the icon instead of the swords.

You need to build a big smithy to craft it, so you'll need Cogborne Transmission as well.

But, yeah, it never came up as a thing to make and I got all the way through the tech tree. I started again today so I wonder if it was just bugging out a little. Going to find out.

I think this type of sword can only be made in large smithy

One patch moved the gladiator sword from the small smithy to the big smithy. If you started the game before the patch, you needed to rebuild the big smithy you had before it'd appear, so it's possible you encountered that glitch. :(
