IInfo on Combat - Weapons

Is there anywhere I can read up on how combat works and what wepaons are good for what.

I have plaid the game for a good while, but am still struggling to understand the combat/wepons system.

I typically equip all Dwarves with an Iron Sword of some type, but do not understand what difference the various blades/hilts/materials make - Seems like an Iron sword trumps Silve/Gold etc, which I guess makes sense as Iron should be harder than those.

If someone can point em to a resource to educate myself that would be great :)

I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point. Combat system is due for an overhaul, so a lot will change. And most monsters die from 1-2 hits anyway. Basically any weapon you make will be fine for now.

But if you still want to know more - press ctrl when hovering mouse over a weapon - you will see its stats, and most importantly how are those stats calculated from resilience, weight etc.
Then you will know which materials and parts to use to boost specific stats. It's common for both weapons and tools

i tried this link and the one on tools in the other threads, and both bring me to a black screen that says
