Cog Drill - Anyway to get the inventory to work?
No matter what I do, the dwarfs refuses to take the items out of the inventory, so the cog drill is useless and cant be use at this point of time. Anyone have any work around to make this work?

I don't even get how the Drill works at all.
No mattere where I place it, it just does its thing and returns zero items, drills nothing,... just standing there, animating over and over.

so the drill part that shows orange ( i think the middle) had to include Ore, the outer parts of the drill (blue outline) don't count. It is possible to get your dwarves to take from the drills but only once all other sources are gone from what I see. I want a way to have the ore put into storage automatically but so far no dice.

At the rate they are pushing out fixes, it should be fairly soon that the hauling priority gets revised, so that dwarves with sacks are hauling loads of ore to storerooms and furnaces as soon as a load is ready.

I have one drill after running out of fuel is it not refueled?

Ya, it is bugged, dwarfs half the time dont refuel the drill, and you cant take out the ore from the drill. So cant be use for now.

In the job manager, you can click the plus and minus symbols on that labor type icon. It will add another "?" symbol beside the icon. As best I can tell, these are "slots" enabling more dwarfs to do that type of task at a time.

Try adding more hauling and restoration slots and see if they refuel more machines and haul off the ore.

It's all about positioning. To interact with the drill dwarves must be able to stand on something (scaffold / terrain / blocks) immediatelly below it, at the horizontal center. If scaffold is 1 tile lower or higher then they won't be able to reach it. It's easiest to just build bridge / blocks right under the drill.

And if dwarves can't reach it then they want take ore or refuel (although I have seen situation where they would be able to do one but not the other. Still proper placement fixes it)

Yes, there are some problems with drills. We need to investigate.
