Set up gamepad for this?

I tried playing with the keyboard but it's driving me crazy. I tried to connect my gamepad and it's not working. Has anyone got this working?

I'm using a logitech Dual Action.

Have you tried under view->settings the general controller settings ?
Controller works for me.

Worked immediately with my wired 360. Maybe it needs Xinput vs Direct Input? Something like XPadder or x360ce or the like should work in that case. Try making sure it's set as your default controller in Steam, too, just as a shot. (Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings > Tick generic controller.)

game was always meant to be played with a controller. play it with a controller for sure.

The controls are exactly the same as they were on the Dreamcast. What it so "terrible" about it? Outside of the Camera not being freely movable like we're used to nowadays, i don't see anything wrong. And you don't have to deal with the crappy analogue stick from the dreamcast gamepad anymore, so that's a big plus.

USB xbox controller is working perfectly, did you actual try to play the game with the controller?

The controller is fine if you select the default pad where it asks you for a controller profile. I'm using a PS4 controller. I used the generic setting. In game then is the default controller scheme as it was on the Dreamcast.

I found the controller settings as suggested above. The game is much more enjoyable now. Thanks guys!

Just Start the game and it should use the controller, I did not have to input any settings, just plug and play with logitech and xbox 360 controller, tested.

Honestly, these days it's a waste of time using any controller outside of Xbox/PS4/Steam. It's hassle free and has platform support straight out of the box.
