Is it just emulating the Dreamcast controller?

Wrong. You are just a liar and a troll. Why don't you go and play a game? You are really sad and pathetic coming in here with your BS.

I do hope the Keyboard and mouse controls are serviceable.
They're sort of hit and miss in Yakuza =(
The controls work as they did back in the day. Shenmue uses what some might colloquially call "tank controls." But this release features an option the original didn't, which is to independently control Ryo with one stick, and the camera with the other. In the originals, we used to have the option of controlling the camera with the analog stick and Ryo with the D-pad, or Ryo with the analog and simpy having no camera control at all. At least here we can use dual analog. The solution back in the day was to hold down the trigger to run, and just aim with the stick (aim the camera that is.) So I'd say this is a fair sight better than that at least.

I think some of the criticism may be down to the (compared to modern games) jankiness of the animations, how Ryo starts and stops, how the camera moves etc. It's an 18 year old game. They didn't alter that, it's not a remake.
