I have a 120hz monitor and running the game at 60fps causes noticeable flicker and eye strain. It's too tedious to change my monitor frequency each time I start this game plus 60hz is annoying me. Vsync doesn't help, game doesn't go above 60fps. How can I make this game run at 120fps?...

Every time I tried to run the game, the screen would go black for a second then I would be sent back to the desktop and nothing happened after that. Some of the times it didn't run I saw a command prompt for a small small fraction of a second on the screen after the black screen went away.
