The vehicles weight should change depending on if the driver/cargo is inside or out. Just sayin'
I weighed a vehicle and found it was justtt under the limit. Then i realised the driver was out of the vehicle, along with a couple items of cargo. After everything was returned to the vehicle, i weighed again expecting it to be over this time, but no change at all.

just my two cents.

Unloading cargo does indeed affect the vehicle's weight. However, when the driver steps out, the weight remains the same because they are still standing on the scale. If you arrest the driver and remove them from the area, you should notice a change in the displayed weight. Hope this helps!

Cargo does influence the weight though… or am I crazy?
I don't know about the driver but the cargo definitely impacts weight, unless I was tripping when I measured the car at 300 less without the cargo...
The Driver does influence the weigt and as both users above me said so should the Cargo as well, unless it was broken in the last update

Oh! I must be crazy. I should have investigated further before posting. I hadn't considered that the driver was still standing on the scale. That's a nice touch. Thank you for the reply.

Something worth noting is that the weight of the vehicle can also not match the type, granted this should be more in your face because let's say a Micro comes through but when you look at the paperwork it'll say that it can have a maximum weight of like 2000 which is WAY over the maximum weight the Micro is allowed to have.

That’s not actually the case. The maximum weight listed in the vehicle registration document is always correct, just like in the duty handbook. Even if the document shows an incorrect vehicle type, the maximum weight will still match the actual vehicle that arrived. Let me know if you need any more clarification!

Then consider that an option to spice up the mistakes with the documents.
Woah I never in my 200+ hours realized that after arresting the driver the weight of the car changes. I wonder how much they even weigh, and gotta wonder, are you gonna make females in DLC weigh less?

umm why not? I don't get it. Females DO weigh less. I didn't even know vehicle weighed less with driver arrested, if a male driver is 75kg on average, then female should be lighter, at 50-65 or something. It's just attention to detail which might be enjoyable to some people

You are aware of that question tends to be a trap for men when asked, it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of questions.

No I don't, I honestly have no clue what you are even talking about. Maybe go google female and male adult average weight and see for yourself. Females are vastly lighter, and that's a fact. I'm not allowed to state facts? Either way, it's not like this game is super realistic to begin with, but I was just wondering about a case where a driver may be 10 kg overweight and ineligible for entry, but if a male NPC turned female, then they would pass.

Usually it's the amount of cargo that decides that. Like Micros 26D with 8 luggage in many cases will be overweight

I've noticed with the Ilich 57 the driver stands off of the scale because the vehicle is so wide. Not sure if it actually affects the scale or not.

haha it's so funny seeing someone like you, with your profile pic and you playing THIS particular game. I wonder if that made you buy the thing in the first place. Either way, happy inspecting, and have fun turning back illegal aliens

As to answer your question - I don't think it affects the weight, when the driver steps out of the car, it basically registers as if the driver was on the scale, just like with any other car
