I love this game, but....
1. My tools keep disappearing after a while. Eh?
2. I'm told to take prisoners to prison, and then it tells me to go back to work. What???

I'm confused.

Hi.

1. Your tools diseappear because they wear down and break. You have to keep buying new tools and better tools.

I think this is done, to simulate the lack of equipment in such countries and " justify " corruption you can go for sometimes.

2. Not 100% sure about this. Is this a quest? Did you put the prisoners into your car?
If not, then you should do this outside of your work-time.

1. Tools have limited lifespan.
2. You should do this task after finishing your shift, i.e. processing cars at the border.

Thanks, I suppose I've been too quick about going to bed when shifts end. :)

And it seems like I'll either have to restart the chapter or let smugglers slip away just to proceed to night time. Oh well. :P

Here's a hint, call a prison transport, it can take the prisoners and contraband off your hands.

Thanks, I'll try that next time. :)

It went better than expected, thankfully. Without tools I couldn't get the contraband, but at least I could arrest the guy, and the superiors were happy. I made sure to do some shopping this time before I called it a night.

Tools it's the same thing, except instead of the prison transport, it's the Supply Van.

Ugh, but those prices. I think I'll rather do it myself, at least for now. :)

Update: Yes, definitely not spending money on prisoner transport. I decided to do it as I was starting to earn some decent bucks, but the very next day they were still in the cell. I don't know if it was a glitch, but either way it was 500 out the window.

Did you actually GO to the guy and transfer them to the transport? You still NEED to interact with the officer that drives the thing to transfer everything M8.

Whoops. xD I guess that explains it. Ah well, no biggie.

Plus, if you want to learn the mechanics easier without the requirements of the story pushing you towards an objective (or back to the checkpoint on a timer) try out Endless mode, I've come to learn that the prices for both the transport and supply van aren't 1/1 with the story mode as you only see 300 dollars in total to request for both, an amount that's easy to reach within the gameplay loop for Endless.

Yeah I've been going back and forth between endless and story to get the hang of it a bit more. I still feel that 500 bucks are better spent on something else, as it's not that much trouble taking the prisoners yourself, as you can fast travel and everything. Getting Vlad to arrive for 200 bucks, on the other hand, was a life saver at some point. :)

The fast travel's better off not always being used, there's even an tip that says "you can use the fast travel, but you might not like the time you have when you arrive" because it likely only uses the main road for the fast travel instead of the backroads which can cut your travel time down by a lot.

It's ok. It's better to lose some time than being ambushed left an right. xD

You get rewarded with money if you defeat the attackers and there's (from what I remember) only four attackers, so they're not as threatening as you might think.
Edit: in fact it's actually better off to defeat the attackers because that gives you bodies to loot which can range from having a bundle of cash, contraband (usually cocaine and weapons), black market items (Vodka that sells for 42 bucks, and cigs) and ammo for the Makarov, AK, PPSH, SKS and the shotgun who's Russian name I forget, oh and I also forgot about the kitchen knifes and branches that can be dropped in the loot pools as well, not great tools but hey if money is tight then they're all you got.
