Does this game have malware or not?
I have been looking at this game for a long time, and I want to try it out. However, in the reviews people are saying that it contains malware. So any of you who regularly play the game, can you tell if there really is malware or not?

It doesn't. Don't worry. Play away, brother/sister. Those reviews are false, merely posted by guys who are too lazy to do actual research into what the supposed malware is.

The devs posted in a news/patch update on Oct. 5 that they removed the file that kept getting flagged, just to be safe. If you want more information, I suggest finding that post under the News tab.

Most of the reviews don't even have evidence. Or rather refuse to post any at all when they are called on it.

Do not download this game , they will infect your pc with what is known as an Obfsucated Backdoor. Do not use it , they have persistence.
Don't believe this guy. He has a game ban on record. Cheating scum. Plus I've been playing for almost 14 hours and nothing has been tracked on my PC

Even that video alone proves the game has no active viruses or malware. The only thing it mentions is a 'PDF exploit' doing god knows what.

The unknown is not necessarily always evil. I would be cautious- but optimistic that it's perfectly safe.

Tencent is extremely well established- I don't think they would knowingly ever publish a game with malware.

Yeah, why would a company, who is infamous for stealing assets from Western games such as TF2 and Heartstone (A game published by a company they own) and publishing it as their own "original" games in China, owns and operates half of the Chinese internet (Including being one of the masterminds behind China's citizen credit system), and consuming Western companies left and right, possibly include malware in a game on the biggest PC storefront used in the West?

Yeah but this guy actually went through good reasearch and debunked the claims of the game having a sort of malware.

I have posted this video in the ROE discord and I await for some responce about what the PDF is there for? I assume it's how the anti-cheat marks your computer and bans your machine preventing you from ban evasion via making a new steam account.

They did remove a file out of people's fears and speculations despite stating it has no harm and it was ment to expand the memory of 32 Bit systems, so I'm pretty sure they can explain this and perhaps remove it as well.

Because Valve would have taken it off long ago.
Like they've done with hundred of other games confirmed to literally crash every user's computer?

They're too busy worrying about taking down Japanese games with headpats.
