ONE PIECE World Seeker

ONE PIECE World Seeker

Would buy if only it had english dub.
It doesn't matter to alot of weebos but it matters to me who just want a good gaming experience and not understanding the dialog takes that away for me. Just wanted the devs to know.

Media should be consumed in it's native language.

*its

As for the OP, use subtitles, simple.

that's because in the japanese dub of the dragon ball franchise, goku's VA actually...IS a female VA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masako_Nozawa

which is really strange given that he's literally a male character throughout the franchise.

for funimation it was female VA's for kid goku and male VA's for adult goku.

It's not strange given that Goku started out as a child, not to mention the fact that 90% of child characters in animation regardless of language are voiced by women.

The reason why Goku's voice wasn't recast in the Japanese version was because he was still portrayed as the same dimwitted fish out of water character that he always was and as a result TOEI & Toriyama saw no reason to recast Nozawa as her voice still suited the comedic character.

So many people in the west got into the franchise through Z fist and his Japanese voice never made sense to a western audience given that he was portrayed as this Superman like character from the outset of Z, however if you start watching Dragon Ball in Japanese and continue on through to Z in Japanese as well it's not really surprising that they never recast the voice and you understand why Toriyama chose her to play a comedic character like Goku.

As for Goku's English voices, the two never seem like they're the same character. The performances don't match up in terms of style, tone, delivery, etc, and it's never believable that his English Kid voice would evolve into his Adult voice. They should have instead had Goku's English actor Sean Schemmel record Kid Goku's lines as adult Goku and pitched them higher to sound more kid like.

Oh and FYI Luffy is voiced by a woman in both Japanese and English as is Naruto, so I don't why you're so baffled by Goku's voice(s)

that's probably because here in the west we usually have male VA's for male characters. goku has never been female so yes, it is pretty strange t learn that his japanese VA was female.

having female VA's voice male characters is just weird and illogical.

"They should have instead had Goku's English actor Sean Schemmel record Kid Goku's lines as adult Goku and pitched them higher to sound more kid like."

at least that would've made more sense since Sean is a male VA.

that's not a solution but rather a bandage for the actual problem.

also, if you're playing a game with japanese VA and english subs and can understand even a little japanese speech then it can be VERY easy to tell when the japanese VA's and the english subs are using 2 completely different scripts cause the VA and character animations won't fit the subbed text at all.

Characters should have the voice that best fits the character, not some sexist viewpoint.

alright, i'm out of here because i have no intention of letting people take what i say and start that kind of B S with it.

Lol @ all the morons crapping on OP's opinion.

And they wonder why anime like One Piece will never see a large sale setting in NA. *ucking narcissistic asshat's. Why should there be no Dub? You think we all want to listen to a bunch of crazy, high pitched, overly emotional teenagers screaming into the microphone? Zoro for example sounded badass in dubbed version of One Piece prior to the timeskip. To even consider his dubbing "bad" is an insult to intelligent people.

No, we do not. I have always enjoyed dubbed anime, but when I see this crap attitude, it reminds me why anime will never become as popular in the west as it could be. Because of garbage attitudes like these.

I agree people don't know how to talk or act anymore with their garbage attitudes and reactions with dubbed anime and etc. But i will say dubbed anime do need more then 50 of the same voice actors this is not the worst thing but some peoples voices were not made to suit every character while people trash over a lot of dubs but sometimes the dub can sound fantastic if not much better then the japanese version like dragon ball z. (seriously japanese goku's voice is trash compared to english goku's voice)

Well said, bud. Hear hear! :lunar2019coolpig::steamhappy:
I think game company's should listen to fan's more expecially bandai namco due to their laziness and lack of fan-service for anime fans i can't recall any fantastic anime games since maybe fighter's Z and bandai didn't even work on it other then giving the license of dragon ball z. they barely check over the projects! they could have easily just picked up a few suggestions and put it into the game it's not like they already delayed it once so whats the harm of doing it again for quality reasons?
@Teaspoon

I mean english dubs are good for games but it's not that they lack just english dubs they lack a lot of love and fanservice in their games more often then not its pretty souless and depressing to play. If you have even touched any one piece game that you can consider good or great? other then pirate warriors which is a really hard type of game to ♥♥♥♥ up. (unlimited world red which is ok but lacks too much and world seeker which is not properly rated yet but i honestly thing people need to be less harsh about it.)

Basically what it comes down to is that despite the games not being great they still sell well enough, which is part of the reason why Bandai continues to make them they way that they do. They know that they can make a really cheap game and as long as it has the One Piece or Dragon Ball name on it or whatever it will probably still sell well.

It's unfortunate, but that's just the way it's always been and it's unlikely to change.
but then we get games like dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi 3 where they are master pieces and sell a crap ton but we don't get sequels to well selling stuff either we get sequels for moderate stuff at best.

Dragon ball fighters Z let us pick sub and dub it's just that Bandai Namco are too lazy to spend a few extra days to add in this option that would make more people happy for once.

I'd guess that's because Dragon ball's english dub is good enough to be worthy to put into the game. And the game is also good enough to attract none anime fans. Which sadly does not seem to be case for World seeker.
one piece's dub isn't even bad. luffys voice could be better to a lot of people though its like black star from soul eater. its like i guess you can get used to it but its almost a waste of talent for the rest of the cast seriously everyone sounds fantastic in the show zoro, sanji, brook, franky, robin, chopper, usopp, nami. though its a running theme for one piece dubs to have a weird luffy voice choice
they dont even speak in half the game its just like zelda and they hmmm and mmmm alot
I agree. there is barely any voice acting in this. Do you really need them to hire some english voice actors to say "mh ah oh hehehe eh?" cause those sounds are sooo much different in japanese?

Your post has been reported for calling anime fans "a lot of weaboos". It's a shame that you try to force a Japanese (!) developer to order a disgusting English audio while not able to properly offend somebody. "A lot" is used when you want to say a good thing, "many" should have been the word. Not even mentioning that the title should be in capital letters.
Learn your own language and respect your own culture before you even THINK of sticking your nose into another country's treasure.

Reported and blocked.

This guy wins the internet. Keep on making the world a better place!
I watch One Piece in dub all the way to episode 574 and mostly because I don't understand Japanese and would rather not read sub. But that would not stop me from buying this game, later on. I think the series sounds even better in Japanese, I really need to learn it by now :wololo:
