As for the OP, use subtitles, simple.
that's probably because here in the west we usually have male VA's for male characters. goku has never been female so yes, it is pretty strange t learn that his japanese VA was female.
having female VA's voice male characters is just weird and illogical.
"They should have instead had Goku's English actor Sean Schemmel record Kid Goku's lines as adult Goku and pitched them higher to sound more kid like."
at least that would've made more sense since Sean is a male VA.
that's not a solution but rather a bandage for the actual problem.
also, if you're playing a game with japanese VA and english subs and can understand even a little japanese speech then it can be VERY easy to tell when the japanese VA's and the english subs are using 2 completely different scripts cause the VA and character animations won't fit the subbed text at all.
alright, i'm out of here because i have no intention of letting people take what i say and start that kind of B S with it.
Well said, bud. Hear hear!
I mean english dubs are good for games but it's not that they lack just english dubs they lack a lot of love and fanservice in their games more often then not its pretty souless and depressing to play. If you have even touched any one piece game that you can consider good or great? other then pirate warriors which is a really hard type of game to ♥♥♥♥ up. (unlimited world red which is ok but lacks too much and world seeker which is not properly rated yet but i honestly thing people need to be less harsh about it.)
Basically what it comes down to is that despite the games not being great they still sell well enough, which is part of the reason why Bandai continues to make them they way that they do. They know that they can make a really cheap game and as long as it has the One Piece or Dragon Ball name on it or whatever it will probably still sell well.
It's unfortunate, but that's just the way it's always been and it's unlikely to change.
I'd guess that's because Dragon ball's english dub is good enough to be worthy to put into the game. And the game is also good enough to attract none anime fans. Which sadly does not seem to be case for World seeker.
This guy wins the internet. Keep on making the world a better place!
