Bug reporting
If you are experiencing something that's obviously a bug (or unusually low frame rates) then please follow these instructions to help supply debug info so I can sort out what is causing problems.

Firstly, run the game and make sure you experience the bug. The games log information is cleared for each launch, so if you didn't experience the bug in your last launch then nothing of use will show up.

If you are experiencing really low frame rates (when your PC specs certainly shouldn't be) then make sure you have loaded a laggy save on your most recent game launch.

After this, quit the game and find this file:
(make sure you have "hidden files" visible! otherwise you won't be able to see the "appData" folder)
C:\Users\ [user] \AppData\LocalLow\Gaugepunk Games\Rolling Line\Player.log

Then please copy-paste ALL the text in this file to something like pastebin.[pastebin.com]
Then post your bug (with as much context and detail as you can) in this thread along with a link to your debug text.

Another oddity: Suddenly all the locos in the drawers move (barely) in a very jerky way. I generally operate the trains in run 4...in about a minutes time they move about their own length (the loco only). I noticed the steamers wheels going normally, the sound is playing normally, just barely moving. Odd thing is I have a workshop download (PRR diesel ) that runs fine...this is with all locos running at the same time, otherwise I would have wrote it off as the computer doing something in the backgound. I have re-produced this after 3 game re-starts.
I noticed some new files in the RL directory ( X86) including a .dll, should that be placed somewhere else?

Soooo its only happened twice but sometimes when i turn off table editting in custom tables this happens. https://i.imgur.com/0kqMbs9.jpg All the tables suddenly disappear. (i dont know if their hitboxes disappear too. Those items on the ground were already there before hand. Mostly cause they fell through the table but thats an entirely different bug)

Also, while im here, is this supposed to be here? and if i build far enough is it gonna be popping up through my floor eventually? https://i.imgur.com/WI5Q5x5.jpg (its a switchboard like on the main layout but of the entire custom layouts room and UNDER the custom tables room.

I've changed how the table editing works in the recent testing build update (1.094+) please let me know if you spot this again with the new update.

The switchboard (which you can see in the second image) should also be hidden now (unless you have object view distance set to "infinite")

This is very strange, ive never run into this nor heard any other reports of it.

You're pastebin post is private by the way, could you make it public?
I can have a look once it's public.

Woops :steamfacepalm: https://pastebin.com/RpY63WLQ

It seems my machine is simply lacking RAM. I lowered some graphics settings and things run much better. I went on a building binge and didn't run any loco's while doing so. Also I'm running 3 complex layouts on one saved game, a bit too much load for 4GB of RAM! Until I can upgrade I think I'll set those layouts aside and start a smaller set-up in the custom tables room.

(Still don't understand why the PRR diesel ran so well)

Hi Franks. I'm curious if you've addressed the livery skins getting mixed up with each other issue, if you have...um...it hasn't worked, at least for me (I could be doing something wrong). If you haven't got to it yet I'll just stop doing it for now. I can reproduce the issue and post a pastebin if needed.

last update i have been unable to open steam overlay with shift + tab and unable to take a screenshot with f12

@pwm I still don't have a solution to this...

@bradenm0520 Strange, it still seems to work fine on my end. steam has been getting a lot of changes so something may have changed in a steam update.

it works in other games jus fine.
maybe its just a windows ten thing but i honestly don't know

Liveries melted into each other again on a train I was running. Was running smooth with all my settings on low.

However, when I clicke the "edit details" button to start editing some details while the train was running around the loop, I noticed a small freeze gltich.

But went on to edit a few details. Saw the train running by with one livery missing and the other melted into the one in front of it.

turned "edit details" back off, small freeze glitch.

Saved work, coppied log.

UPDATE: My new GTX 1070 just arrived, and I have installed it. Up the settings a bit, things run smoothly. Run the same test:

Start my two steam engines. No laggy bungy cord movement, so I think we're good.

Click the edit buttons to edit some details and terrain, get the freeze glitch again. Go find trains, one is running just fine, the other has been turned backwards, but running in the same direction, unnatached from the cars.

Sorry Franks, I really do hate keep posting bug repots, but now a new glitch has occured: No trains running. Edit track & details on, go to place track.

Click to place a piece of track--it disapears. Place switch track, the switch is placed, but the track still disapears. They are actually hagning in mid air by the control board.

here's the log: https://pastebin.com/UvZhAdm8

There screenshots posted in the screen shot section.

Trains merging/decoupling is certainly caused by lag spikes and low frame rates.
I'm working on a better system to replace the enable/disable editing since the current method is terrible for large custom maps.

Though the disappearing track you mentioned is very strange, i've never run into anything like that before. Did this just happen once or is it a re-occurring issue?

Thanks @franks -- this has only happened once--no trains running. 50x50 map. Never happened after. I think all the edit options except for edit tables were on. That log is from that session, I wish I could add more context.
