Can you PLEASE let us disable the crosshair ?

It is legitimately what keeps me from playing this game and buying the dlc. Outer Wilds has the biggest, ugliest crosshair I have ever seen. I find it incredibly annoying to have this enormous bright spot right in the middle of the screen.
Ideally the game would feature an adaptive HUD that fades out when you don't need it and fades in if you need or want it.
Pretty please implement at least the ability to disable that crosshair dear devs, I want to play and enjoy your game :)

Plenty of mods for the game. Maybe one can help with your issue.

There is currently now way to disable the hud or crosshair via a mod. There was once a no hud mod, but it does not work any more and afaik does not allow you to toggle the hud during gameplay in case you need it.
EDIT: I discovered there is a mod called Cheat and Debug Menu, which lets you disable the HUD by pressing F1. Playing with an controller, this is suboptimal and I still wish the devs would finally implement such a rudimentary feature most other games offer these days. But at least now I have the ability to get rid of that accursed crosshair.

Out of all the things that annoy you from this game, it is the crosshair? Not to make your opinion invalid or anything, of course. It's just never occurred to me that the crosshair could be annoying. Literally a white dot.

I wonder if the original poster is seeing something different than the rest of us are? Because, yeah, it's just a tiny white dot. It's literally the opposite of the "biggest" or "ugliest" crosshair I've ever seen (it's not even a crosshair, it's just a dot).

Here I am in 2023 and that cross hair, it's just there, in the middle of the screen, following me wherever I look. Maybe the developer wants us to feel what its like to have cataracts? I hate it. I hate it with the passion of a thousand suns.

FYI: It looks like they updated the mod's files on github to remove dependency on the Outer Wilds: New Horizons mod, but haven't updated the release package.
