The graphics card is too warm
This game warms the graphics card by 10 degrees with any settings more than all the other top games. For comparison: Max temperature in Metro: Exodus was 56 degrees. In this game 65 and growing. My card GTX770 4gb with three coolers :lunar2019madpig:

I have a laptop, and have had no probs whatsoever with this game.

Isn't this what we get if we all demand better and better graphics, though?

Games are are not responsible for GPU damage. If the GPU overheats it shuts the computer now to protect itself this can only happen because of poor cooling. All games are different if they are coded to use more cores then the GPU will use more energy.

The same problem here, +80º, more temperature than games with more graphics,

It's still decent if you lower the settings.

Why don't you all just buy decent laptops? I'm running the game at full, and having no probs :D

"Graphics cards". Heh. I just put up with whatever's inside my Omen :)

You're not imagining it and prob not HW specific as i have a 2080ti and the stable boost drops from 2010 on most other things to 1950-1965, with fans spinning up on this due to the extra heat. Must be all those flames ;)

1080 and no overheating.. Update drivers perhaps.

I don't think many people here are suggesting their cards are overheating, simply running warmer than they'd expect based on their day to day experience with their card... there would normally be nothing mysterious about it (high GPU load = heat), except it has relatively low GPU load (some peaks, nothing constant) to be pushing the GPU temps to the levels it is.

The GPU Usage should be @ 100% when Vertical Synchronization is disabled (which is logic, the GPU is trying to output as many frames as possible).
Run the game then switch in Windowed mode by pressing ALT+ENTER keys and load your game.
Open Task Manager by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC keys while in-game.
Click Performance tab and check the GPU Usage.
By turning on the Vertical Synchronization (Settings > Graphics), the GPU Usage should be reduced.
