Hey there @Mox @Rheetro! We have a temporary workaround for this, until we find a permanent solution:
o Launch the game.
o Open Windows Task Manager.
 On Windows 7, go to "Processes" tab.
 On Windows 8 or 10, go to "Details" tab.
o Find APlagueTaleInnocence_x64.exe and right-click on it.
o Select "Set Affinity..." and choose CPU 0 to CPU 3.

Please let us know if this works for you, thanks!

Same problem here. Caught my cpu with all 8 cores pegged at 100% and high cpu temps. i7 9700k @5ghz 240mm liquid cooled, rtx2070 fe. PC is less then a month old and this is the only game i have issues with. Like others have stated I retsart the game and its around 23% cpu usage and then it starts to increase.

Wasn't Witcher 3 usually in the high 90's with ultra on everything with no matter what rig you had ?

1080ti & 8700k works fine on ultra, no stuttering no framedrops.
Plλyer May 14, 2019 @ 8:37am
I thought only ı have stuttering with my i7 6700k
Marsson May 14, 2019 @ 8:43am
Around 65% so far on my i5 9600k @5ghz.

ryzen5 2600 RX570.. high cpu and gpu load.
Marsson May 14, 2019 @ 9:37am
Yup, in the first area where there are loads of rats I saw my cpu go as high as 90% :claugh: But then again I'm running the game on a 144hz screen.

Depending on the area you are in and the cpu you are using, TW3 could indeed get pretty cpu intensive. In big towns where there was a lot of AI for example. You could move from location to location and check your CPU load and it would vary.

But that is not what we experience here. Right now its like a memory leak but for cpu cycles. You start playing, everything is fine, then over time load goes up until it reaches 100%, no matter the location or what seems to happen on screen (even hordes of rats dont seems cpu intensive if you just restarted the game). You can be at 100%, restart the game, reload the exact same location and your cpu load is now low.

There is clearly something wrong and a fix needed from devs.

i also have this problem. sometimes it occurs at a cut scene. the cores goes up to 100% and stay like that the whole time even at the main menu.. cpu temp also increase. right now the only fix we have is restarting the game.

same problem here. It starts off alright but then jumps around 70-80% which seems to be a problem... I hope they get this fixed soon, I am running a 2080 TI 9900K at 4.8 both liquid cooled but this is jumping the CPU to 70C which should not be.

Same Issue here on 8086K@5ghz and 2080 ti I'm playing at 4K and my pc sounds like a Jet engine cpu Is getting tasked on all cores at 4K which should be GPU bound. Something Is wrong here.

i have 99% GPU usage @ 1080p and 74% GPU usage @ 2K. Low or Ultra doesn't matter...
Krabs May 14, 2019 @ 12:52pm
The first two chapters I had over 100c every like 20-30 mins. But after that, it didn't do it again. Running 9980xe. Cpu was around 42c.
