This could be another application running in the background conflicting with the game.

Otherwise, please post the following information about your configuration for investigation:

1. Press the Windows and R keys from the keyboard to open the Run dialog box and type: DXDIAG
2. Click OK.
3. Provide the Windows version (Operating System:), the processor model (Processor:) and the amount of RAM memory (Memory:) under the System tab.
4. Click the Display tab.
5. Provide the graphics card model (Name:) under Device and the driver date (Date:) under Drivers.
6. Click on the Audio or the Sound tab (for the default audio device).
7. Provide the name of the audio device (Name:) under Device and the driver date (Date:) under Drivers.

You contacted me by email and I answered you.

This issue may not be related to your graphics card but to your one of your sound devices (driver issue or conflicting with the game).

You have the following sound devices:

Sound Devices
Description: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Default Sound Playback: Yes
Default Voice Playback: No
Driver Date: 24/05/2016

Description: 3 - 2778G5 (AMD High Definition Audio Device)
Default Sound Playback: No
Default Voice Playback: No
Driver Date: 30/04/2019

Description: Headset Earphone (HyperX 7.1 Audio)
Default Sound Playback: No
Default Voice Playback: Yes
Driver Date: 11/04/2018

Description: Speakers (XSplit Stream Audio Renderer)
Default Sound Playback: No
Default Voice Playback: No
Driver Date: 26/06/2014

A. Please set your HyperX 7.1 headset as your default sound playback then run the game and check.

B. Otherwise, please update the driver of your Realtek HD sound device:

1. Click https://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/18084/
2. Click on the Windows 64-bit only button under Download options:.
3. Save and run the 0008-64bit_Win7_Win8_Win81_Win10_R281.exe application.

NOTE: Windows will uninstall the current audio driver.
Once done, please restart the computer then Windows will install the new driver.

C. You can also disable the XSplit Stream Audio Renderer device.

D. You can also exclude the game application from Windows Defender and check if you see some improvements:

1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Settings.
2. Click Update & Security > Windows Security.
3. Click on Manage settings under Virus & threat protection settings.
4. Click on Add or remove exclusions under Exclusions.
5. Click on Add an exclusion > File.
6. Navigate to Steam > steamapps > common > A Plague Tale Innocence.
7. Add APlagueTaleInnocence_x64.exe application.
8. Close Windows Security and test.

You can also try this fix:
From the main menu, navigate to Settings > Graphics and set Display mode to Borderless.

I have seen the email. I will try all of these now. But I have tried borderless already, just to let you know.

I have it too. Nothing running in background i7-4790k, RTX2060, 16Gb ram, Windows 10 1809.
ltron May 15, 2019 @ 8:56am
I have found the cause of my stutter, it was hwinfo64 running in the background and monitoring temps etc. Closing it and monitoring with MSI Afterburner my frametime graph is totally smooth (tested up to the point you see the boar).
ltron May 15, 2019 @ 1:38pm
It's started stuttering again for no reason even with hwinfo closed. The stutters are not that bad but still annoying. It's strange that some days it can be flawlessly smooth and other days it can stutter in exactly the same areas. Maybe it's a Windows 10 problem.

Just want to say I am getting this issue as well, and no solution in the FAQ or any other possible solution i have read has fixed it. Its unplayable as of now.

Getting a little silly with all these workarounds, devs... Just patch the game, please. At the very least, let us know one is being worked on :/
