Arrived in Chapter 12 with limited resources

So, I've made it this far... have been gathering resources and can carry 22 items each now. Fabric and Leather are rarities and I am getting concerned that I am moving into the final chapters without the equipment upgrades needed to be successful.
Perhaps I'm overthinking this but not sure if my equipment should be better than the Level 2 upgrade (across the board) at this point in the game.

I dont think success in dependent on the upgrades. I know I didnt have everything upgraded when I completed the game. It will be more challenging, but still doable.

I always upgraded as possible. I think I only had my sling and containers to max at the end. I do not think it will matter. There are a couple times where sling accuracy and reload speed matters. I do not know if the upgrades help these. The game seems to always give you what you need when you need them.

Thank you for the encouragement... I have focused on equipment (rather than alchemist upgrades) and hope the cloth and leather turn up soon :-)

I figured out what I did and did not repeat this my second time through. At the alchemist cart in Chapter 12, I had not replenished my Ignifer inventory (was down to 2 or 3). I upgraded equipment which used 16/16 of one of the ingredients for Ignifer. Then, at some point the game saved so there was no place to go back to and rethink this decision. This left me in a very tenuous position to run with the cart and shoot rat cyclones.

I ended up going back to Chapter 3 and replaying, with a focus on taking exploration time to find all supplies I could. I also used Luminosa when there was no other option. Then, I arrived at Chapter 12 in much better shape but held off on the equipment upgrade until after the rats were dealt with. Amazing how much easier the game is the 2nd time through!

Actually it is possible to do every single upgrade in one playthrough, even the alchemy, create enough luminosa to reach all the alchemy-carts and still have some leather and fabric at the end of the game. But that requires you to search around a lot!

I burned out on the game and quit during the 3 part fire battle towards the end. I keep meaning to circle back and finish but the battle with the final boss weighs heavy on me. Plus, a glitch prevented me from getting all the curios (data problem in game probably caused when I had a network adapter problem) and this added to my frustration at the time. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with this game! Thanks for the feedback, it is appreciated!
