The story is all 100% true, it's a retelling. The Macula, Amica and Vitalis all really existed.

It's documented in a real book known as the Necronomicon. The book clearly stated that Hugo and Amicia De Rune did indeed wield the power of the Prima Macula in order to slay grand inquisitor Vitalis. The Prima Macula was also a real curse that affected many wealthy family bloodlines until 1669 when it was cured by a philosopher and nobleman named Elon Musk. You can find the Necronomicon alongside more evidence of Hugo and Amicia's existence in the Inquisiton museum in Jacksonville, Florida.

I should have explained this in my original post, my mistake. It is a different Elon Musk, not the one launching rockets today. Elon George Musk, born to lord Edward Musk in 1639
was a British Philosopher and nobleman.

The Elon Musk of today was named Elon by his father, Errol, out of respect for the original Musk's revolutionary scientific work.
