check around maybe fires near him there are also those spears ...i just did if few hours ago and had no issue for me ..just make sure all fires including his swords arent on fire
Yeah, I wandered around the area many times thinking there must be a fire somewhere but I don't see one. Guess I'll try and restart the chapter. I am very disappointed in this battle as it feels very fragile like it is easy to get the game confused and stuck. There should be multiple ways through it.
Restarting the game fixes most of these. Had only one happen in the whole playthrough so it hopefully isn't very common.
Like SlipperyPete and HoraceDude, I could not get the Rat weapon to work or get Hugo to direct them either, but with your tip I was able at last to get through the round successfully.
I should just like to add that I tried to use this method from the tower on the right-hand side of the one where the rats are assembled, by extinguishing the fire next to them to lure Nicholas to it to relight it, then extinguishing his fire, then shooting him with Odoris, but my position was too close to him there and he overcame me before the rats had time to overwhelm him. So I tried the same trick, coming round rightwards from the back of the left-hand tower instead, and this provided enough distance from Nicholas for the rats to engulf him before he could reach us.
Absolute lifesaver, thank you sir!
