Wouldn't you want to feel the past, and what really happened when you play ? Sure rats are attracted by death and poor living conditions, and I can understand that was the motive with a little exaggeration, but seriously it's very far fetched that millions are everywhere, and they are there wherever you are. The Black Death was a rushed game, and had potential but failed but it is more realistic than this "science fiction" copy, and yes this is more like Godzilla chasing a village through the streets of Tokyo than a survival game during the dark ages. It just ruins the medieval mood. If I wanted to play monsters take over a city I would of chosen Day Z.
Nah, I never expected to get 100% realism when I noticed this game. And they've shown the swarms since the beginning. If I want 100% realism in a game like this I go for Kingdom Come. This game wouldn't be as interesting or "game-y" if they only used humans as enemies.
I am sure the inquisition {yes the church ran everything, and they would of never let rats get in their way for their mission} would of set fire to them a long time ago,and they would of been gone. All it takes is one group to flame them, and they are gone. They do not keep multiplying, and that's what makes it so far fetched.
SIMULATORS are the only thing that should strive to be realistic. GAMES are not confined to realism.
Immersion/realism is up to the developers to decide not the consumer. The consumer has the power to purchase that title or not based on what they are seeking. We all have different taste in what we prefer. If a title doesn't meet ones needs it is very simple DO NOT BUY IT.
The OP doesn't like the rats.........I do. I also know that if I didn't like the swarm of rats in a game I wouldn't have given my money to the developers. The last thing I would ever do is buy something I didn't like then expect the product to change based on my own desires.
I got the game as a gift from my mate from Stockholm where I live :D I didn't pay one Euro.
No because I like the game, I just don't like the idea of the rats. I did say I enjoyed the game, and the graphics were nice so no I have no plans to refund it. I was just giving my opinion in how much it is over done with fantasy but doesn't mean I won't continue to play it. Even MOW has alot of non historical aspects, and Northgard has vikings with horns on their helmets but it doesn't mean I am not enjoying the games. All fantastic games :D
I will still play the games np but they would be better without so much fantasy
