Saves gone

So I have had a lot of issues with Two Worlds 2. First everytime I start the game it asks me for the serial codes. Though after I plug them in I can continue playing on my save. Today however I started Two Worlds up and the first thing I noticed is that it is not asking me for my serial code. The worst part is that all my saves are gone and that I had to create a new profile. I´ve tried restarting steam several times.
Tried googling this can´t find any solutions for someone who is on a mac.
I tried opening the Two Worlds folder but couldn´t find anything resembling a save file.

Edit: Found save file location save files are still there they do however for some reason not load.

Just wanted to say that this happened to me too, and I found a solution. Create a new profile, and then find your saves file in Documents >> TW2Profile, and your profile in Documents >> TW2Profile >> Players.
Copy your saves file into your new profile folder, and voila! You should be able to load your game.

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I have about 30 hours on this game and lost all my saves! I thought I was going to have to start over. Then I came across this post. You saved me!! I can't thank you enough!!

A thousand times Thank you. I had purchased the mac version of the game and the pirates pack and have spent a bunch of time re-learning this wonderful game.. then on a three day weekend, first day, all my saves were gone. Your steps on the mac work great. One thing I will add, create the new profile (old one is lost for ever) and then create a new game and create a new save, then step out, and do not do the auto save on exit. This then creates the SAVE subdirectory that is completely missing until you create a game and save.

From there it is as you say, copy from the Documents >> TW2Profile>>Saves folder into your new Documents >>TW2Profile >> Profiles >> <name of profile> >> Saves folder

Worked like a champ, just clarifying for people not to give up if putting the saves in root did not work. The subdirectory is missing on Mac till you have a save in a new game.

Also bumping this thread, as if it is still happening in May of 2017, it is still relevant for Mac users.

hi!! i found my save files, but they where not in a saves folder named TW2, but in a folder named " 7520". now that i found my old save files i have not clear where should i create a new profile.

Tw2 remembers only 4 save files over my 10 ones and doesn't save anymore.

so i tried to look for those that are still "remembered" by tw2, in order to copy the files i found in the folder that the game is using.
but there is not such a thing.
So my question is " where am i supposed to create this new profile you are talking about?"
i am really bad with computers.... thank you for your help (i hope my english will be good enough)

FYI If you start the game from a shortcut on the desktop, the game saves in Steam under the games ID, but if you run the game from steam it saves in Users/#Your Name##/Saved Games/Two Worlds II. At least it does for me. This can make it look like your saves have vanished.

I've encountered this problem about an hour ago. I just verified the integrity of the game cache and it brought my saves back.
