But for me, it's already difficult with "DLC"! What does that mean?
Perhaps an explanation, I'm 61 and have only tried to install games from CD/DVD and have often had problems. Now here on Steam too. That's why it's a bit difficult.
Now I googled it, it's "Downloadable Content", i.e. additional downloadable content.
I haven't downloaded anything else apart from the games from Steam. I assumed that I would install the game and then play it. Shouldn't that be the case?
Started the game and it quickly ended on its own.
Just go to your Two Worlds 2 Library page(were you would normaly launch the game from) and look for the tab 'DLC' (should be right underneath the Green 'Play' button). this will take you to the DLC store page for the game. Here you will see list of DLC's you can buy, and if you already own the DLC it will be indicated with a blue "IN LIBRARY" sign.
And if you want to manage the DLC's ( if you want to enable or disable them), go to your Two Worlds 2 Library page(were you would normaly launch the game from). Then look to the right side of the page were you see your friends who own and play the game, scroll down past 'additional content' and past 'achievements', look for the 'DLC' tab(not the one close to play button). There should be 2 options, View DLC's in store and Manage My DLC's. under manage you can control the DLC's
But copy the steam_api file, then it wont be necessary to disable any DLC
In that same Two Worlds 2 directory, go to -> Install -> Physx, then use the "PhysX_10.01.29_9.10.0129_SystemSoftware" exe to install what it needs.
This only fixed the game for me WITHOUT the shattered embrace DLC.. I still cant get that to start up when installed
you should try the Steam_api solution, it woked for me
Here's how I fixed the problem just minutes ago:
1. Replace Steam_api with a different Steam_api from a game that I just played.
2. Add Steam_api64 from a different game that I just played.
3. Go to the install directory of Two Worlds II and in the physx directory, launch the physx installer.
I can launch the HD game without issue and all DLCs enabled.
Hallo again,
but what means it? I found the steam_api.dll, but what should I do with this file?
I have now ordered a new notebook (Lenovo Ideapad 3 Gaming). When it arrives and I have installed Steam on it, I will deal with the problem again. There is no point in getting it to work on this notebook and then finding out that there are other problems on the new one.
Many thanks to all the helpers, it is really great to see how helpful this is!
Download physx legacy drivers if you havent its a hard requirement to my knowledge.
The older version should be in the directorys INSTALL file, though the legacy version is better. Same with dx9 ,though again dx10 is better for hd version. If that doesnt work try installing the 4gb patch and/or large address aware onto the exe you use (i did both on both exe just to be sure) Not sure if this game needs 4gb or laa but any older game i use the 4gb patch and it helps everytime.

p.s i only have the whatever pirate dlc as i heard the following two are rancid ass
I can now play with the new notebook without any problems.
Thanks for your support!
