Also, I do believe you enter that activation code when it gives you the prompt to activate. If you've already activated with the key, not sure how to make it come back without reinstalling.
It just makes me so angry, all they do is punish legal owners, the only people who don't suffer this bull are pirates. I love this series so much I've got them all on GOG, steam, and Disc mostly because this freekin activation system each time hoping that this time they wont do it and being so cheap but the best version I've got was from Humble which is genuine drm free and requires no activation. Problem is I'm not sure how to get the new update for it.
I know I'll buy the new one anyway, no matter what I say.
stupid and annoying.
@Bhozz Actually mate, this is my thread and you're welcome to post here anytime you want, even if it is to vent your anger.
Hah, i can see you edited the initial post, funny.
Yes I did edit it, nine minutes after I posted it to correct a spelling error though I have no idea why you seem to think this means something and as I said, this is my thread and anyone is welcome to post here. Even you despite the fact you seem to think you have the power of censorship. Because I believe anyone can say anything they want at any time in any place. It's called freedom of speech.
But on topic: Their "Reality Pump DLM" is actually a very draconian DRM system that "activates" based on your computer's hardware and probably uses hidden files and/or registry entries too. It certainly doesn't link to your Steam account. I believe it's also limited to five activations before you have to contact their support and beg for more. Although I've seen conflicting reports on whether or not the activation limit still exists.
I have a new computer since I first played this . I legally paid for the game, so why do the devs make it so difficult?
People who steal the game have it easy. . . . seems backwards.
I'll do what i like , so I'm back.
I even when I enter the same codes I used before it says they are invalid, and no option to retrieve it again appears.
Also, searching on the net many posts appear saying that RealityPump does not answer mails.
So, is it some scam? or do I have to search for a crack?
After a couple of attempts I approached it as if it was my first time
(Because I couldn't get to a point where I could put in the code they had given me when I last activated)
I eventually got to where I was able to re register and guess what, they gave me the exact same reg. code again, proving that I must have been on record somewhere.
That's all I can tell you really.
Failing that try contacting steam but I suspect they will refer you to Reality Pump.
