If you want to remove the temptation and make sure you're never bothered by a single-player game that YOU ALREADY PAID FOR asking you for more money, you can actually delete this game from your library permanently now:
https://www.pcworld.com/article/3012199/software-games/steam-makes-it-easier-to-permanently-remove-games-from-your-account-heres-how.html
Now on the DLC page we see $60 worth of content that is already in the game, or used to be included with the game purchase.
Some of which are digital guide books. Now if they were pyhsical guide books that could be browsed through while on the toilet, or read while trying to settle down and sleep for the night. Then ok, at least it's a real product that can held in real hands. But.. you want money for a digital wiki for a game from 2011? If someone has internet and therefore can purchase the digital guide book, then they have internet anyways. Where low income people share useful information for free.
Paid soundtracks - So the game doesn't come with music? Are these soundtracks shipped to your house on disc? How much does the shipping cost? Is Two Worlds a band now?
Digital Deluxe Content - You mean the game? Well yeah it's digital obviously, just like everything else for sale on this page. How is something Deluxe when it's anti-consumer? Deluxe for whoever is selling it I suppose. Bragging to yourself as you further monetize simple video game content for reason other than more $..more $..more $.
Then you have pay to win the game microtrans so you can just skip playing the game altogether. After all, that's why people buy video games right? To pay someone else to fetch them a victory screen. And the best part, it's paid mods from the devs.
Might as well start a $20 monthly sub fee to go with the annoying DRM. It's just awful when poor people try to steal when they don't have the disposable income thanks to selfish pricing models by those who are trying to sell the product in question. I guess they try the much more affordable industry of film, or music, or YT which is basically free of ads. Speaking of ads - https://i.imgur.com/QSyH1LK.png Look how depressed the protagonist is :D
Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Reality Pump DLM V2 =
Digital deluxe content is mostly poster PDFs, and digital books. There is some bonus weapons/armor, but they're obsolete pretty quickly.
There is music in the game, the soundtracks are for if you want to download it and listen on your phone or whatever.
The microtransactions are annoying, but not really p2w. I don't think anyone cares about the conpetetive multiplayer modes, since they're really unbalanced anyway.
Digital Deluxe should actually be called the More Expensive Digital Edition. There is nothing Deluxe by excluding content from the customer.
So apparently Two Worlds 2 is a band then. Selling music. Do musical artists sell video games now as well? A little bit of Youtube Fu = mp3 soundtrack for a digital device. You can likely attain higher quality bitrates as well.
How is paying for in-game advantages not pay to win? Oh wait, it's pay to lose as a consumer. Buys video game, pays content creators more money for cheat mods and skip to end game. Are they selling a max level character boost for $60 like WoW?
But hey, just ignore me and kick yourself when you see gamig prices within the next years. Every new release these days is full price early access.
Not trying to win arguements. I'm trying to salvage this suicidal industry. Looks like I'm too late if today's kids find all the DLCs acceptable. Then pay to win the game microtrans.
What they did with this game in particular is alarming. What's next? Diablo 2 real money auction house? Trying to block mods in Skyrim and make people pay for them? Yeah, they have attempted paid mods in Skyrim now. Now every game requires an online connection, disc version or not. I wonder why? Don't bend to their will and take a ♥♥♥♥♥ deal.
I expect any future release from this team to be developed with microtrans progression at it's core.
